Airports of Mexico
- 2 customer reviews.

Thirty five years ago, Arnold Senterfitt mapped his first airport in Mexico. This was done on a trip with three other aircraft who were in search of airports for a yet to be named group of people who were to become the Flying Samaritans. Upon finding and landing on several dirt strips, Arnold measured and made rough diagrams for his future use. After several more trips and many more diagrams, all on single sheets of paper, Arnold gathered up all the diagrams and put them in a note book. Upon seeing this "airport book", several of Arnold's friends wanted a copy and this was the start of Senterfitt's Airports of Baja and Mainland Mexico. Developed over a period of
more than 40 years, this Mexican airport guide lists over 300 airports, paved and dirt, along with photos, airport layouts, and critical information. Considered a must by most that fly south of the border, it is carried by both small and

- The latest border crossing rules

Indispensable by Old timer thinking about recertifying from Sierra Vista, AZ
Pros: Chock full of off-the-beaten track landing strips with local information. Cons: Can't think of any Review: In 1973, as a low-time fixed wing single engine whiz kid, I flew, with unsuspecting friends, from COS to Tepic where we spent Christmas on a beach spoiled only by occasional horses. Except for this collection, the trip would have been a disaster in more ways than the obvious one. Enroute, we flew mostly tiny dirt strips where ground service consisted of barefooted kids toting 5-gallon jerry cans of questionable "Avgas" that I filtered through a piece of chamois. The kids, not lacking enthusiasm even if aviation ground skills weren't their forte, served as "guards" for our Cessna in our absence, and were ecstatic with the buck or two we doled out upon our departure. Aside from providing us excellent orientation maps, without this book our two-week trip wouldn't have been as "quaint" and enjoyable as it turned out to be. The 2008 update is a must-have for the vacationing tourist.
