Did its job - and I have come back to it for review over and over by Andrew from Philadelphia PA USA
Pros: Convient and affordable supplement to my training Cons: Some parts could be updated. Review: This is the same video lessons my flight school required me to view as part of my training. While I could do that for free at the school - buying the video for my own use allowed me the flexibility to view on my own time - even later at night when the school was closed. I found the video's pretty helpful and a great supplement to my training. Surprisingly, i have found my self using it more and more for review, and not to mention a good supplement to the text book I was using in ground school. I was planning on selling the the DVD when my training is over, however I will probably keep it as a refresher now and then. While the videos are somewhat dated, I think the content is still applicable.

Save your money and just read the book. by Brett from POUGHKEEPSIE NY USA
Pros: It covers most of the material in the text book, if you can stay awake. Cons: Male Narrator puts me to sleep. Review: It is a decent product, but it is a severe need of an update. This video seems to be from the 80's, that being said it is not worth the price.

Would not recommend by A Customer from Chicago, IL
Pros: Covers required material to pass the written Cons: Outdated and incorrect content. Drab. Poor quality video Review: Aimed at passing the written test, the content is there, but the delivery is poor. Looks like it was shot in the 70s. Pace is brisk, but will still put your students to sleep with the below par presentation skills. Some information is just incorrect. For example the pilot simply repeating the tail number to tower/ATC instead of repeating the full clearance/instruction.

I would recommend this product by Angel from Guaynabo PR USA
Pros: Good audiovisual tool. Cons: Does not go over federal aviation regulations. Review: Great for reviewing fundamentals. It is also a good instructor source for ground training.

Good information but really needs updated. by Tim from APO AE USA
Pros: Good information and current to FAA standards. Cons: Outdated video footage can be distracting and create bad habits for new students. Review: The informatioin in the videos is current but some updates are really needed. Showing pilots without headsets is a good example. For safety reasons and better communication, you will seldom see a pilot not wearing a headset so it is easy to tell that many segments of the video are more than 20 years old. Also, during a pre-flight inspection, the pilot dumps fuel on the ground after draining the wing sumps and just drains a lot of fuel on the ground from the engine fuel strainer. I understand that it would be costly to shoot new videos if the information is still current and meets FAA standards but safety and environmental currency is also important. On the plus side, the airspace and weather portions are very good and well presented. Overall, the videos are good and met my expectations but would be even better if updated a little. I'm a Flight Instructor and bought the video for my son who is preparing for his Private Pilot License. Even he was laughing at some of the fashions and safety inconsistencies with current standards.

It's OK by Michael from Boulder City USA
Pros: Good content Cons: Poor quailty Review: Content is good just a little out of date. The picture quality is poor. It is a good addition to the text books. The Sporty's online videos are much better.

From A Pilot's Point of View by DR from Houston Texas
Pros: Fun and entertaining way to learn. Cons: Not complete, not enough facts or information. Review: The content of the DVD's is excellent, however don't confuse this with thinking it's a complete course. Far from it, but does provide an excellent introduction or supplement to the textbooks. The textbooks are needed to give you all the knowledge you will need. The DVD's cover important areas in a entertaining and fun way to learn but exclude details such as the Aircraft and Pilot requirements to enter certain Classes of Airspace. Good Supplement but not really necessary. For someone that has no knowledge of flying and just getting started I recommend them. I purchased them to jumpstart my wife when she showed an interest in flying. B737 CPT

Seeing is Believing by John from Aberdeen SD USA
Review: I plan to use this product along with the written study guide for initial pilot training. We all learn by observing, which accounts for 75% of what a student picks up. This is a necessary part of the instructional process.

Concise but dry by Tim from Bay City, MI
Pros: A well organized compendium of essential information. Cons: Dry manner of presentations Review: This product is an excellent compendium of necessary information. The pace, however, is quite brisk and the presentations are rather dry and dull, making it difficult to watch for long periods of time

Review: The material should be updated to the 21st century. The quality of the DVD could be better. The planes and people are from the 80s and 90s. Basic information is alright.
