ASA's new Virtual Test Prep combines the sharp video achieved in DVD format

a comprehensive aviation ground school. The course provides an organized,
easy-to-follow curriculum for any television or computer DVD player. Students
watch the DVD to learn the material, take an interactive on-screen quiz

Good information and helpful

Pros: Good source of information for biennial review
Cons: not enough to pass knowledge test
Review: I am not sure if this product will help the student pilot to pass her/his knowledge test, however it is a cheap and good source of help for the pilot studying for her/his biennial review.

Pros: you can review the material multiple times
Cons: no opportunity for more explanation
Review: the material is a great resource to an actual classroom presentation. I was surprised to find that the first thing on the list to do is to read chapter one of a book NOT included in this package.

Review: My experience with the test prep has been given me the education that I was hoping to recieve. There is no damaged material in the package that would dissatisfy me as a customer. I will be buying more products from "my pilot store".

Q: I see that it says "instructor sign-off (endorsement)" is available from ASA, is this the endorsement I will need to take the FAA written exam?
A:
Yes, you will need a CFI endorsement before you can take the FAA knowledge (written) exam. Most instructors that you are working with will sign you off after you complete the course, but if for some reason they do not, ASA will take care of it for you.

Yes, while this video is geared more towards the fixed wing pilot, many of the subject areas will be the same for fixed wing and rotorcraft. For example; weather, regulations, airspace, navigation, etc. will be the same. Aerodynamics and systems will obviously be different, however.
