Not Good, don't waste your money

  • By David from Melbourne FL USA on Wednesday, February 24, 2016
  • Pros: none
  • Review: Did not meet expectations

Clamping arrangement using the rubber straps to fasten the unit onto the yoke is too flimsy. When clamped to the yoke rod, the unit moves and vibrates so that it does not hold even a small paper pad firmly in place.

Not bad

  • By justin from minot ND USA on Tuesday, September 25, 2012
  • Pros: Easy to use
  • Review: Good concept. The clip needs to be stronger. It can barely hold a sectional.

Don't waste your money

  • By A Customer on Friday, February 03, 2012
  • Pros: Clip holds checklists well and is small and unobtrusive
  • Review: Either you will not be able to tighten this thing enough to prevent it from spinning down sideways under weight, or you'll tighten it too much and break the rubber band. The rubber band broke on this one rendering it useless. This clip is a terrible design because it is very difficult to attach without having to mess around with it for five minutes.

Works well, when upgraded

  • By Steve from Oak Harbor Wa. on Friday, March 18, 2011
  • Pros: With the upgrade it works well
  • Review: The band broke on the first use. I went to the hardware store and bought a rubber "O" ring of the same diameter and replaced the original band. The upgrade works great you can get it much tighter so it will not move.

Good, but...

  • By Ted from Eugene, Oregon USA on Tuesday, June 01, 2010
  • Pros: Cool design, fits any yoke
  • Review: I really like the design of this clip and it worked well for me on my first flight with it, but the rubber band broke on my second use. And apparently I can't get a new band, so I can't use the clip now. It's pretty easy to try to get too-snug a fit on your yoke and end up breaking the rubber band like I did. You have been warned.

Good design, but not very functional.

  • By Pilot Mike from Boston, MA on Monday, June 08, 2009
  • Pros: Sturdy
  • Review: This product is a great idea, getting things out of the way an in the pilot's line of sight. The mechanism that secures the clip to the yoke is great, and works well. However, the clip itself is rather week. By itself, it can't hold up more than a single piece of paper. The jaws are entirely plastic, and have no grip. The spring that closes the jaws is so weak, and won't hold an IFR flight planner, book of approach plates, or anything lighter than a single piece of paper. If you wrap elastic bands around the jaws it works a little better, but I thought the whole point of buying this was for it to hold stuff, and it doesn't. Overall, not worth it. Invest in a better one.

Not recommended for my aircraft.

  • By A Customer from Trappe PA USA on Thursday, April 30, 2009
  • Pros: It didn't break.
  • Review: I own a Beech Sierra and the yoke rod tapers near the control. The fit is not very good. In addition the clip does not hold a small ring binder for my check list. I guess it should be used for one or two pages of charts.
