Great!

  • Pros:
  • Review: This purchase replaced one I've used for 20-some yrs. Excellent product.

It's a good solid throttle.

  • By Jerry from Milford MI USA on Friday, May 20, 2022
  • Pros: Solid positive feeling
  • Review: If you use on a desktop or other solid surface then it's great. If you mount it to a chair or cockpit where it isn't level, then you will have problems. It really needs a friction adjustment so it will hold position when it's not level.
To be clear, I would recommend this product

very nice.

  • By A Customer on Tuesday, February 02, 2016
  • Pros: easy, precise, lots of buttons.
  • Review: Throttle works great. All the buttons worked. The 3 of the 4 hats worked great. The 1 little joystick works good.

The hat on the front of the throttle was hard to use at first. up/down/left all worked fine but right was very hard to get to work. I would have to press it several times to get it to work once. After using it for about 3 weeks it has loosened up and now it works too. Still needs a little bit more loosening but its only problematic occasionally now.

    I really like the throttle.

I wish it had detents for different throttle positions. Like if you opened it up and you could put something in the path that made a point where the throttle movement would stall or something. Just a wish not really a con. Never seen it like that before either.

Excellent Controller

  • By Shuffler from TX USA on Wednesday, November 11, 2015
  • Pros: Really stands up to hard play. Plenty of buttons to program.
  • Review: I have had one of these for just over 10 years. I finally started having an issue with it disconnecting. I bought a new one so I could send my 10 year old controller in to be repaired. These stand up to a lot of abuse / hard play. I highly recommend CH controllers I also have a Fighter Stick and Pro pedals.

Proven Design with solid support

  • By Falcon from Austin TX USA on Tuesday, June 30, 2015
  • Pros: Good ergonomics, sturdy material
  • Review: Product is well designed with strong community support. Plug and Play in Windows 7 64-bit. However, the Throttle Axis is slightly off calibration, even with "short calibration" routine. Z-Axis value will not go under 13 at maximum throttle setting. This causes Star Citizen to unable reach maximum speed.

Another excellent CH Products piece of equipment

  • By Joe from Hopewell Junction NY USA on Thursday, April 16, 2015
  • Pros: Quality, precision, long lasting
  • Review: This throttle unit completes my total CH Products HOTAS system. I finally decided to go all CH as a few of my flight sims had difficulty trying to mix units by different manufacturers. The CH software allows combining the throttle, joystick, and rudder pedals into one virtual unit as seen by the computer. While the exterior is plastic, all of the internal parts should last for years and years based on my experience with CH in the past.

3 QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Q: I want to get a nice setup that I can learn how to fly helicopters. I want to be able to actually learn to fly. Ideally, the setup I purchase can also be used to teach me how to actually fly an airplane as well. What would you recommend for both hardware and software? I am an advanced computer user, but not a big gamer. I have 3 monitors for business and a very fast PC with NVidea 9800 video cards. Please put together a couple of options. Thanks in advance for your advice.

A: I really have two different recommendations based on your description.  For helicopter flying, I would absolutely recommend the Saitek X52 flight stick.  And, for airplanes I would recommend the Saitek Pro Yoke and Throttle Quadrant bundle.  You can pair either of those with the Saitek Pro Rudders for added realism.  For the software, I would probably recommend X-Plane but it's a close call between X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator.  The X-Plane software includes a wide variety of helicopters including the Robinson R22, Bell 206, Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk, Sikorsky H-3 Sea King, Sikorsky S-76C, Boeing CH-47 Chinook, and Bell AH-1 "Attack" Cobra.  Whereas, the MS FSX only includes the Robinson R22 out of the box.  However, there are a huge number of add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator that gives you access to almost any helicopter.

A: Yes, it is fully compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and X.
