  • Pros:
  • Review: This headset was extremely comfortable and the stereo adjustment feature was very nice. However, I bought this product for use in Robinson R22/R44 helicopters and it is near useless for that purpose. With or without noise reduction, radio comms were very muted and extremely hard to hear, even with volume up at max. I thought perhaps it was just me, but I passed it around to a few others to try and they said the same thing, get rid of it and buy another headset. It is perhaps better in a closed cockpit which I didn't get to try as I am in Arizona and we usually fly with both doors off.

Q: Can the helicopter headset fit normal airplane jacks? What is the difference between Helicopter and Airplane Headsets?

A: To use this helicopter headset in an airplane you would need an adapter that converts from a single U-174/U helicopter plug to the dual PJ-055 and PJ-068 jacks used in a fixed wing aircraft. This adapter can be found at https://www.mypilotstore.com/mypilotstore/sep/1251
