Good Mounting Platform for the iPad Mini2

  • Pros: secure mounting without stress points. Adaptable to fit a wide range of tablets. Reasonably priced.
  • Cons: The spring loaded top makes it somewhat of a challenge to get the table into the mount, but it is gets easier with practice.
  • Review: Holds the pad securely and fits well. My original mount cracked the glass of the iPad at the edge because it was too tight. This tablet uses spring loading to provide a moderate force without stress points. The power port is accessible.

  • Cons: The spring is too strong. It does not need to be that strong to hold a tablet.
  • Review: The product work's great. Configuration can be a bit cumbersome, however. I would purchase it again and recommend it to others.

Tight Fit (designed for an iPad Mini WITH cover)

  • Pros: RAM quality
  • Cons: Made to fit an iPad Mini WITH cover. Takes some "working" to get a leather covered Mini in place.
  • Review: Typical RAM quality! I was a bit disappointed that my iPad Mini, with cover, was a tighter fit than I expected (had to wiggle in the 4 corners of the opened leather cover). The spring tension is stronger than I expected -- it will hold the Mini securely in place. You have to pull the tension spring apart (takes most of two hands) then place the Mini firmly in place with your third hand ... you get the idea. One end is firmly in place, the other end pulls up/slides up. But, you get used to the method, and that's what it takes to hold the Mini firmly in place in possible turbulence.

Great yoke connection; needs the next larger cups from RAM

  • Pros: excellent build quality from RAM
  • Cons: cups are too small to allow for a thicker sleeve on the ipad
  • Review: I ended up buying the RAM (RAMHOLTAB12U) to fit my ipad mini with sleeve. I have a medium cover from MagPul on my mini and the cups on this unit did not fit well. with the larger cups on the TAB12U it works flawlessly - and will now allow many many choices in sleeves/covers for the ipad.
    I am flying a Piper Arrow
    MyPilotStore should consider adding additional RAM options to this product.
