Review:
I fly a 1978 Piper Archer II and purchased this RAM Cradle for 10-inch iPads with Heavy Duty Cases along with th eRAM yoke Mount Clamp Base, the RAM Standard Double Socket Arm, and the RAM Diamond Base with 1" Ball so I could mount my iPad2 on my pilot yoke. I am very happy with the result. It is far superior to using the iPad in my lap as I have done for the past 2 years. I with the iPad in place in landscape mode, I have absolutely no restriction to viewing the standard 6-pack instruments and just slight head movements needed to view the engine and fuel instruments. The feel of the yoke is slightly heavier than I was used to with my pilot-yoke-mounted Garmin 396, but still well balanced with no restrictions to motion at all. It is easy to switch to portrait mode which I think might be superior for viewing approach plates while flying instrument approaches. Overall, I find this yoke mounted solution well built, study, and solid with no tendency to loosen during flight. If you are considering a yoke mounted iPad solution for your Archer II, I think you will find the above equipment very satisfactory. Note that if you have a case that is thicker than about 5/8" as I do, you need to be sure to go with this RAM-HOL-TAB8U. The other choices cannot handle a thick case.
