Pros: One stick for several tanks
Cons: Can not measure when low fuel on some types of tanks
Review:
Many plane tanks are not perfectly suitable for stick testing as they indicate 0 fuel while remaining fuel sits at the bottom of the wing. Other tanks have curved bottoms making consistent tests difficult. Be aware of sensitivity to unlevel testing areas. The variation on unlevel ground may be great. They are helpful but not perfect. It worked well on our M20J Mooney. The Seneca III was fine for half tanks to full when level. The Cessna 414 tip tanks are shaped funny and it is less useful but still helpful those tanks. The wing tanks can only measure full to 2/3 tank. The locker tanks are accurate to the bottom.
