- Review: When I was able to finally put my hands on this jacket, I felt totally astonished. Being lambskin, it seemed to me a really sturdy leather but with a special smoothness. The lining is pure and simple artwork, and no doubt it keeps you warm no matter the weather. And the aroma... Once I hung it in my wardrobe, It seemed to soak all my clothes with a pleasant scent. On the subject of sizes, I suggest to choose yours or even one size less. When they say it's roomy, they don't lie. It is, and you must be some kind of a bodybuilder to correctly fit a XL (I'm 1'82 meters tall and weigh 105 kg, but there's still plenty of room in my A-2). I use to combine it with jeans and Dr. Martens-like brown boots, but a pair of Khakis or Dockers would also combine perfectly, just to mention two examples. Finally, My Pilot Store; a serious, thorough, careful service. I'm glad I did business with them. Expensive? No way Jose. You get what you paid for, period.

I have not tested the jacket in weather below 30 F but I think with proper under garments it should be fine. It is fine alone in weather above 30 F and fun to wear because of the look and the pockets available to carry stuff you do not want to loose. The pockets are well built and deep. The jacket is just starting to show normal wear which makes it look better- not so new looking. I will need more time with the jacket to see if it will meet the test of normal wear and tear, but by inspection of the stitching and zipper construction I think it will last for years.

- Review: Very well made, good looking classic leather jacket. The reviews say the sizes run large and that is true--that's great for us old farts but the guys in their 20/30s like a tighter fit. I bought a large for my son for his 30th birthday but he'd prefer a tighter fit so I'm keeping his and getting him a medium. I can't emphasize enough how high the quality is--American made really does mean something. Beautiful finish and color. And as the reviewers say, it's quite warm--I guess made for being at 25K feet with no heating. Only negative: there is a beautiful tribute sewn into the lining to WWII servicemen, as though the wearer is that pilot. I feel it's disrespectful to those who did serve for people like me who did not to wear this tribute. I've gotten over this by interpreting it as a reminder to thank my Dad in my memory and others who did serve in WWII and since. But I think the company, a high quality manufacturer, should think about the ethical implications of this to insure that they are not a part of encouraging people who did not serve to pretend they did.

- Review: I was impressed with the fit and finish immediately. The leather (ah, and that smell...) actually has some nice give and softness for being new. It still needs to be broken in but it couldn't have a better initial feel. The jacket also has an overall warm and enveloping feel to it, which in the long run -- and irrespective of that it's also desirable that it is a classic A-2 replica -- this is why I covet a comfortable man's (and not a "designer") leather jacket. I always love snap-buttons on a jacket, and they're employed well with the largish side pockets (also side entry) and as I'm a button-down guy from way back, I LOVE the snap-button down collars. I also like the knit-gathering at the waist - it fits to your form, closes the bottom and doesn't just lay there like other outer garments. At 6'2"/215lbs I first purchased an XL but found that I almost "swam" in that. The re-order of a Large was absolutely perfect. Also, I wouldn't worry about getting a "tall" jacket if you're my height. My arms are long and the regular "L" size is just right. The manufacturer went slightly overboard with all the inside written historical panels and claims of being American made, but that's my only nit. The price is not inexpensive, but is what you would expect to pay for this kind of quality. If you feel you deserve it though and want this jacket to last, that should end that discussion. Beyond that, when I wear this jacket, it makes me feel like a million bucks and I am more than proud to own it (also, my dad was a Captain during WWII in the USAAC). That's about as sterling a testimonial as I can give, and well-deserved it is.

I was looking for a jacket that fit me like a flight jacket should. Not baggy or hanging on me like a bad date. I read all the reviews and at the end I was more confused than ever. I decided to email Mypilotstore for their opinion since they must get these kind of questions all the time. I told them I was 6' 4" with arms like an orangutan. I gave them my waist size of 38 and my jacket size of 46. They emailed me back and told me I should go with XL or if I like wearing my jackets a little loose then a 2XL. So I ordered a XL and waited for it to arrive. All the time I was worried my UPS drive would make off with my jacket.
It arrived quickly and I carefully open the box not wanting to scar it with my knife. It laid there beautifully wrapped in a clear plastic cover gently folded over once. The leather was shiny and had a new smell to it. I buried my nose into it and inhaled it's scent while all the time screaming like a kid who just got lucky on prom night. Then I reached into the box and immediately went to try it on. Arrrggg! Did they think I was covering the Good Year blimp with my jacket? The arm length was fine but clearly this jacket would have fit the most studliest Sumo wrestler.
I called Mypilotstore and got a RA number to return the jacket for a smaller size. That was hassle free and they sent out a L right away. The large fits perfect and I can't wait to walk down Hollywood Blvd on a Friday night wearing this jacket. I hung the jacket to dry overnight and decided to keep it, as they tend to become distressed with time anyway. This is an excellent jacket, but I would recommend better packaging for shippment.

If God is with me, I'll make it back.

The materials and workmanship are top notch, resulting in a jacket that will last a lifetime. The fit is perfect. I ordered a Small Long- which often is more "small" than "long", but the length on this is a full two 2 inches longer, and the arms are longer too- just what I wanted.
The pockets are spacious. I appreciate the side-slit hand pockets that are integrated behind the front patch pockets. The two inside breast pockets hold everything I need (phone, pens, papers, other odds & ends).
The elastic knit waist and arm hems are wide enough to be effective, but don't pinch or bind, so movement is not restricted.
The customer service is outstanding. I originally ordered a medium long, but ended up returning it for a small. The folks at MyPilot didn't have one in stock so they contacted the manufacturer, who shipped it directly to me.

I have a number of leather jackets but this is clearly among the best, though it is not priced nearly so steep as others I own. This coat must be made from some of the finest leathers and accessory materials available. It looks and feels outstanding! I do not think that I have written 3 or 4 “reviews” over the course of my lifetime, but this coat demanded that I return the favor of the quality of its workmanship. This is a great coat. Well worth the investment. I call it an investment as it is hard to imagine that it will not last for quite some time.
