A better deal in the long run

  • By Navion Driver from Bellingham, WA on Thursday, April 12, 2012
  • Pros: Sturdier than comparable US charts
  • Cons: Price for visiting pilots to Canada
  • Review: The Vancouver VFR Navigational Chart is slightly larger than its American counterpart. The paper seems thicker, too, a good thing because the Canadian charts must last longer because they are not revised nearly as often as US charts. Knowing that ought to lessen the sting of its price.

Terminology is similar to US charts, though I found depictions of floors and ceilings of Canadian airspace somewhat odd.

Canadian VFR Sectional easy to use

  • By John from Lafayette . USA on Friday, August 08, 2008
  • Pros: Easy for US pilots to use
  • Cons: Price
  • Review: Canada's version of the US VFR Sectional is just as good. They have a few differences in the appearance and symbology. However, I had no problems using the chart. Only compliant is the price. At twice the cost of a US Sectional, ouch!
