Pros: almost all of the information you need in one place
Cons: all the information you need in one place
Review:
This book is essential for every pilot but that said it doesn't really make anything easy to find in my opinion.

It met my expectations and more. It is difficult to follow an inquiry through all the sections. I was after info on removing 3rd class medical denial so could be cleared recreational flight

E-book was not what I expected
By Mark
from SacramentoCAUSA
on Saturday, March 15, 2014
Pros: Printed book was as expected - nothing to go wrong there
Cons: Didn't care for the e-pub format e-book - not a problem if you want e-pub
Review:
I purchased the printed book in addition to the e-book. The printed book is what was expected, so no problem there. The e-book came in e-pub format, which I didn't expect. This was my fault as I just didn't look closely enough to the description (which said it was e-pub format) but I wanted a PDF as I don't have any way to read e-pub format material.
I have tried downloading a couple different e-pub reader applications, but don't care for them and wish I could have just received a PDF.

Compound confusion
By James H
from Abilene KS USA
on Wednesday, March 30, 2022
Pros: Gives direction for pilots and especially students
Cons: Difficult to read and often to understand
Review:
As a CFI it is necessary to have a current copy of the FAR/AIM for reference and discussion with students and BFR customers. Works well for that, HOWEVER, I have never been son confused with some of the government's form of writing and then the interpretations that come out of formal discussions. Not your fault, but just the way our government does things. Thanks JHP

Should be in every serious pilot's library
By Lloyd
from Montgomery AL USA
on Tuesday, October 20, 2020
Review:
I think it is time for ASA to make this a two volume product--split between FAR and AIM. Any idea would be to give a choice on the FARs between a Part 61, 121, or 135. It is getting to be just too big and heavy!!!

Need current regs for the checkride
By John
from Grand Rapids MI USA
on Thursday, October 22, 2020
Review:
What can I say - it’s the FARs. Great reading if you have insomnia! Required reading for pilots - especially students. Who else but the FAA could write such a tome where almost every paragraph starts with “No person shall . . . “ ? Personally, I find reading such stuff slightly less painful from paper, instead of from a screen. The print is very good, and the binding seems solid.

As usual, a great deal for the price but would like to see it (regs) published without Part 121, 119, 121, and 135.

binding too close to page contentr
By CURTIS
from Pryor OK USA
on Thursday, February 02, 2017
Review:
More margin needed between inner page content and stiff binding, causing book to not stay open .. having to turn it over to keep your place between using it is aggravating and cumbersome. Binding need to be more flexible. Best fix would be to produce with looseleaf spiral binding.

A must for every pilot
By Brian
from Humboldt IA USA
on Thursday, August 15, 2013
Pros: Vast amount of information in one package.
Cons: Vast amount of info. Sometime it takes some hunting. Add tabs for quick reference.
Review:
I wish I would have bought this when I got my private. Great to answer questions instead of relying on hanger talk. It would be nice it had tabs for frequently referenced sections such as Abbreviations/Acronyms -- I added my own. A couple of the pages did not fold and bind properly and were partly unusable...I just looked the info up elsewhere.

As an older pilot craving paper printed items, it suits my needs. I wish someone would take the time to create an annotated index to find these faster, but my grandkids would just say, Paw Paw that's called a searchable pdf.
