Great back-up detector

  • Cons: On/off status not obvious, Form factor, and ease of mounting within field of view of pilot.
  • Review: I wanted two detectors from different manufacturers. This detector was less money and had a much longer lifespan. It isn’t obvious when it is on or off. I think it is important for the detector to be in view. The visor clip may be really convenient for a car, not so much for a plane. I’ve placed this on the cabin side-pocket on co-pilot side of my Cessna 182. There other detector I purchased was easily mounted on the instrument panel with a small square of Velcro…and has been become my primary detector for ease of use and direct visibility.

Best part long lasting sensor simple operation

  • Pros: Long sensor life, easy operation, compact size.
  • Cons: No display like my last one for remaining battery or sensor life.
  • Review: Very compact, I Velcro it to my panel and part of the checklist is to turn it on each flight. It has a long lasting sensor, longer than any of the other ones in this approximate price range. Long lasting battery life. And easy operation. Just a switch for on/off and a test button and led light. Only reason it is 4 instead of 5 stars is because I've never detected CO with it yet (hope never to!). Recommend.
