Hummm - I so wanted this to work...

  • By Mary in NJ from Moorestown NJ on Monday, July 12, 2010
  • Pros: If it works for you - would not make you groggy as Bonine does
  • Cons: Did not work, too big for my wrist and twists, battery issue
  • Review: [This review was written for a previous generation ReliefBand model.]  I used the relief watch for the first time on a boat ride- and got very sick. Was I not using properly? Or was it because my arm got splashed and the gel washed off? I tried all settings- and honestly above a 3 is very unsettling. I reread the directions- and plan to try on my right wrist versus left. I also missed the non-replacable battery part of the description- which is strange as I ordered batteries with it- which are clearly displayed next to the watch. I gave a 2 as you all seem so enthusiastic- so I will try again if I get up the nerve.

I wish...

  • By John from Anaheim CA USA on Monday, June 14, 2010
  • Pros: May have a placeo-type effectiveness, is a distraction (from the shock feeling). Put that thing on 5 and hit it the right nerve and it definitely will get your attention. Making a fist makes the shock more intense. It feels like you're holding the handlebar of a motorcycle that is roaring down the highway.
  • Cons: It's ugly. (I covered it up with a wrist sweatband). It's pricey. For me, it didn't work.
  • Review: [This review was written for a previous generation ReliefBand model.]  This product, from others reviews, sounded like a potentially life-changing and ultimately priceless device. I waited anxiously for its arrival and almost looked forward to the flight so I could experience the lack of motion sickness that others have been raving about. Alas, I did not have a similar experience to others on this site. I wish I could say otherwise, however, sad to say, but I still felt ill. I used it for both in-flight and in-vehicle, but neither time did it help eliminate or reduce the symptoms of motion sickness I usually feel when traveling. I do think, however, everyone's body will react differently to this, so I'm not going to discourage anyone from trying something that can potentially make their traveling experiences more enjoyable and put their travel-weary minds at ease. I do believe that some of the reviews on here are sincere in their success and I hope if you are considering this product that you go ahead and give it a shot despite the high price. If it works for you, then I am certainly happy for you! I cannot say for myself that it did what it was intended to do. Good luck in your travels and I hope you find a remedy for your travel-induced ailments!

Disappointed

  • By Robert from Galena OH USA on Monday, January 18, 2010
  • Pros: My first band was great
  • Cons: My new band is very ineffective
  • Review: [This review was written for a previous generation ReliefBand model.]  I am not a pilot. Just someone who experiences motion sickness when we go on a cruise. I owned a relief band a few years back and it performed beautifully. I couldn't believe I felt so great on the ship. I recently purchased another band and was very disappointed. It just doesn't have the effect or the zap my previous one did. I am taking it on our next cruise in a few weeks but will also have to take some bonine to use as well. This cruise will be the first time I will be using this new band. I feel I am now out over $100 bucks and won't be able to rely on my lifesaver band. Perhaps I just received a band which is defective but if so it doesn't help me cruise wise or pocket wise.

Not in all Conditions

  • By Deborah from Hammond NY USA on Friday, February 20, 2009
  • Pros: Easy to use
  • Cons: Not effective (for me) in all conditions
  • Review: [This review was written for a previous generation ReliefBand model.]  I used this product on an overseas plane flight and felt better upon arrival than I ever had. We proceeded to a cruise to Antartica where the open sea passage is reputedly very rough. Under these conditions, the band did not work for me and I had to revert to medication.I hate the side-effects of the medications so was really hoping for better results. I admit, however, that I put it to an extreme test!
