Pros: Complete guide to the PTS with detailed references
Cons: They push their own publications instead of the FAA books - understandable, but the FAA likes the FAA
Review: A complete guide to preparing for the CFI PTS. This book is exactly what I needed.

Pros: Easy to read, well structured, and comprehensive
Cons: You have to actually read it
Review: There is so much to absorb for this certificate every little bit helps and Gleim's practical test prep was a big help. This and ASA's Oral Test Questions were my two non-FAA "must have" books for the CFI practical.

Cons:
Review: This book walks you through the PTS and provides everything you need to know for the practical. The explanations it provides for the maneuvers are fantastic and will aid in better understanding the maneuver while also conveying what you need to be communicating to the examiner during the checkride. All the information in this book is, of course, in the FAA publications, but this book puts everything for a particular maneuver in one place with much clearer explanations and visuals.

Review: This book has helped me to prepare for my initial CFI practical test! It is very well done and a must have for a CFI!! I love to purchase products from my pilot store, it always shows up fast and is priced well!

Pros: thorough, complete
Cons: not a teaching textbook
Review: I would not use it to learn how to become a cfi. I used it to prepare for the practical test. It was an excellent review of all the information that you need to have "instructional knowledge" about.

Cons: By necessity, some topics abbreviated
Review: Excellent format hitting every task. Uses color images from FAA handboks as illustrations. Includes all tasks including FOI. And, the chapters can be used as lesson plans.
