I couldn’t get it to work.

  • By John from Anaheim CA USA on Friday, April 22, 2022
  • Pros:
  • Review: I couldn’t get it to work. Why would they sell such products without verifying its usability is beyond me. I should have been allowed to get a refund.

Must watch COPA videos to use

  • By Stephen from Blue Ash OH USA on Sunday, February 21, 2021
  • Pros:
  • Review: Trainer works well but no instructions. In order to use you must watch the COPA videos on installation and usage. Also you must have at least a 24” high resolution screen for it to be clear enough to use.

Once I figured that out it worked well. Save yourself weeks of frustration.

Absolutely awesome

  • By Jay from Jacksonville FL USA on Friday, October 11, 2019
  • Pros: Much less expensive and less dangerous than learning in the airplane
  • Review: It's an exact replica of flying the airplane. I can practice an approach at home before I fly it for real.

Really good value

  • By A Customer from Blaine WA USA on Friday, August 09, 2019
  • Pros:
  • Review: This software is vital to learning the Cirrus Perspective system at a reasonable cost. If I had to learn while in the air, it would be very expensive. This allows me to learn the various aspects of the system in a relaxed environment. Great software.

GREAT....but

  • By Cirrus driver from Minnetonka, MN on Tuesday, March 12, 2019
  • Pros: The buttons (that I have used) seem to do what they are supposed to do
  • Review:

The disk did not self install; and clicking "Install Trainer" on the setup page gave no response. I used the ".exe" application in the Install directory to get somewhere.

There is no question that this trainer is a low cost way of learning the "buttonology" of this powerful system. It is NOT a flight simulator, but that is really a good thing. The throttle sets speed, not power; roll sets roll and does not drop altitude; pitch sets pitch and you don't lose airspeed; those sorts of things. Your concentration on the system operation is not distracted by airplane dynamics.
You can "fly" many different approaches for no additional cost and watch the needles move in response to either joystick motions or AP settings. The VNAV feature follows the step downs and Along Track Offsets work well. The "highway in the sky" shows where the Flight Plan and Altitude settings are set including the ILS path and the Synthetic Vision shows the runway as well as airports nearby in the front view.

I have two major complaints 1) there are no LPV approaches, maybe because there are not enough active satellites and RAIM is not available (?) and 2) I recall being successful in "flying" some coupled ILS approaches but then I was unable to get them to function again including multiple attempts using the full approach as well as Vectors To Final and different approaches and airports. I also tried several restarts of the program without success in this flight portion.

Make sure to utilize the "Start Dual Screen Trainer" option; I can't imagine it being so helpful any other way.

G1000 Light

  • By A Customer from Cherry Hills Village CO USA on Thursday, February 09, 2017

Great Money Saver

  • By Michael from Los Angeles CA USA on Thursday, June 25, 2015
  • Pros: Affordable, Works Well
  • Review: This a great simulator to save time on your Hobbs meter! Much better to tweak knobs on your time table than try to get everything to gel in the cockpit under constant pressure. I can't stress that enough.

This isn't a simulator you can actually fly, but it is a great, accurate simulation of the dash of your Cirrus Perspective SR20/22. Create a flight plan. Practice with the autopilot. Learn to navigate though all pages of the MFD. It's all there. I've found it invaluable. And for the price, you can't beat it.
