I acquired the Gleim ATP book to help me study for the Chinese ATP written. This was just another step in trying to get a job in China, and in addition to studying the various samples of the CAAC written questions, it was recommended also to study the Gleim ATP book. This turned out to be very much true, as the similarities in questions is "uncanny".

- Review: No wasted time trying to figure out what to study. Covers everything you need to pass the test. I took the Part 135 section. Studied the material and answered the questions three times, took the practice exam at the end, then took the test. Passed with flying colors. Look at Gleim website for any updates to test questions if purchased later in the year.

- Review: I've used Gleim for my private SEL, instrument and FII. Passed all three with a 90, 85, and 90 respectively. I purchased the Gleim book again for the ATP deadline two months ago and was very disappointed. It's a huge book so I jumped into it and paid for the online ground school so I knew this test in and out. The biggest annoyance is how many pages there are of just repetition over things that are easy. 80 questions on how to calculate weight and balance on a Beech 1900. They take 5 minutes each and there are 80! After about 5 you get it down and you're ready to move on. What I was so disappointed over was the fact that I could tell you the ins and outs of the beech 1900, dc9, 737 and 727 along with all the other chapters for the 121 exam. Needless to say I was passing gleims practice tests and was confident I was ready. I failed the 121 exam with a 64%. Want to know how many questions I got on the beech 1900, dc 9, 737 or 727? Zero. That alone was half the book. My confidence is shaken with gleim, and I will be supplementing my next written with another test prep to ensure a passing score.

I would have waited until the 2008 manual came out to purchase it if only the updating information had been known.
