Beginning to wonder about the quality

  • By A Customer from Jarrettsville MD USA on Thursday, May 10, 2012
  • Pros: Red vinyl w/ N-number looks good and fits well
  • Cons: Apparently infected with mold spores that are growing out of one of the plugs. Need cabin air plug.
  • Review: The plugs look good and certainly feel of higher quality than the previous units purchased elsewhere. However, after only two months, white mold is beginning to appear on the stitching of one of the plugs and it seems to be eminating from the foam inside the plug. Also, given that these plugs are aircraft-specific, why don't they offer a complete set? I also need one for the cabin air inlet.

Not Snug Enough

  • By Rod Kunkel from Hartford, CT on Thursday, May 17, 2007
  • Pros: Appearance
  • Cons: Fit
  • Review: Very stylish, but I have to say I'm concerned with the fit. Width and height seem to be OK, but depth is too shallow, allowing cowl plugs to "twist" too easily. I've feared a strong wind tugging on the connecting strap or other outside influence could dislodge them. To be honest, they haven't come out, but you need to be real careful when putting them in to ensure they stay in place.

Loose fit & Questionable Quality

  • By Richard from Princeton NJ USA on Friday, April 17, 2015
  • Pros:
  • Cons: Loose fit and questionable quality
  • Review: These plugs are loose when inserted compared to the Bruce plugs I had previously. Also the quality of the materials is questionable. Doesn't look like these will last very long.
