Adequate but disappointing

  • Pros: Holds laptop, reference books, two headsets, and a Stratux with some room to spare
  • Cons: Durability is questionable, tight fit
  • Review: Overall, not terrible but not great. It holds the gear I want it to, but just barely. The main compartment is tiny from a depth perspective. My laptop fits fine in the dedicated slot for it, but with headsets in the front pocket, I'm only able to carry one or two references books.

Two headsets, Stratux suction cup mount, and a RAM mount fit in the large front compartment fine, Stratux stays in one zip-up side compartment, but must remove the antennas to zip it completely closed. I would prefer more organization options in the large front compartment, either a strap to hold a headset or some kind of dividers.

Neither of my flashlights stay in the small side pocket very well, may hold one of the medium-sized fuel sumps ok.

The small top pocket on the front doesn't seem very useful, opening is too small for a headset. The front pocket holds logbook, wallet, pens, etc. fine.

Main complaint is one of the handle rivets ripped out within the first week of using it. I expected a little more space and durability for a $130 backpack.

  • Review: It has many compartments for organizing. After use of 2 years, the metal wired top handle popped out from the backpack and the metal wire is sticking out at one side. Since the metal wire is rivetted into the fabric, it is not easy to fix. The handle does not have to be a metal wire, and it could be a stiff nylon webbing.
