I can start my sim experience from ground zero - Turn-On Master Switches and Avionics and see the cockpit come to life. Then I can turn on the engine(s). Then I turn on other lights etc. After landing, one can do just the reverse. It feels real and helps me with my checklist steps. Beyond all that is the level of quality of the Flight Yoke. I have it clamped down onto my desk and have to admit, there have been times when it helps. The yoke feels good in the hand, turns 180 degrees and is smoothly responsive very similar to when I "really fly". One can calibrate both axis' (I haven't needed to).

Just an update to my other review. I also wanted to run XPLANE11 on LINUX. You can do that but Honeycomb flight controls are conflicting with my mouse and even after plugging in one item at a time and configuring, was only able to get the Yoke to work. The throttles were not configurable at all. Even my Saitek rudder peddles were conflicting with the mouse (an interrupt conflict of some sort). Until they create a driver for LINUX, I'll have to stay with WINDOWS (I was using WIN7).
Since I don't have WIN7, now I will have to take computer back to the store and have them re install at a cost of $50 or so. One other thing I should mention is that you cannot run XPLANE11 at all on a Linux system unless you load drivers for your video card. In this case, XPLANE11 would only work with keyboard input.

- Pros: The quality of the build - metal rod is sturdy. The rubberised grip feels solid, even the plastic that is used on the yoke is not 'hollow' or flimsy in feel or movement. It is also secure to my desk, even without the clamps - the sticky pad really does keep it all in place. I can tell why there is a 5 year warranty on this - you can tell the manufacturer knows how well it has been constructed and that warranty can only give the customer confidence that this product will outlast anything in it's price range, or slightly higher. It is proof you do not need to spend $1500 on a yoke to get a sound product.
- Cons: If there is a con at all, and it is very slight indeed, I was expecting perhaps a bit more resistance in the roll of the yoke. It is wonderful that it has a full range of motion, I just thought perhaps it might have a small bit of pull to it, when trying to move the ailerons. That said it isn't a deal breaker WHATSOEVER.

Firstly the yoke came in excellent condition, survived shipping, and was packed to prevent damage.
I have been a simmer for 20 years but wasn't as serious as many. I just like to fly around and see the sights, and hopefully land and live. I literally used a keyboard and mouse the ENTIRE TIME, for various (lazy?) reasons. I always intended to put down the money for proper kit but never quite did. This made flying difficult, or I should say flying properly, difficult.
Well, no more. While I waited quite a while to have a sim that would run good old FSX without too much lag, now that I have a system that can easily handle it I no longer had the excuse to not invest in a quality yoke.
I can't say enough how revolutionizing the Honeycomb Alpha Yoke has been for me. I was overjoyed with its build and feel - pleasantly surprised at the push and pull power needed to move it - and it has made my simming experience one of pleasure rather than work. With this in mind, and the throttle quadrant on the horizon, I am ready to take this whole hobby a whole lot more serious.

Coming from the Saitek pro flight yoke, this one is like night and day. The roll on the Honeycomb is buttery smooth. There are no detents compared to the saitek. I have a Stay level Aviation flight panel, so the only thing is, I had to adapt the honeycomb for it, since the cutout was made for the saitek. Also, having the switch panel is awesome, since my saitek switch panel dies recently. If you fly X-plane 11, you will have to re-do the switches in the xplane setup because they don't match.

- Review: Bought the Honeycomb yoke a month ago. This was part of a migration from ELITE flight simulator, which I had for many years. I'm using X plane 11 now and all I can say is, Wow! For a fraction of the price, the simulation experience is more realistic than with ELITE. X plane recognizes the controls right away, then you have to program some of the switches and that's it. I programmed the toggle switches on the left side of the yoke and started flying right away. I'll program the rest once I figure out what's needed. My only problem was the view hat is on the left and I was used to it being on the right. After using the CH Products entry level yoke for years, I am still adjusting to the back pressure when not trimmed. I could hold the back pressure with little effort whereas now it requires greater effort. Transitions to other little things like having the hat button on the left, rather than the right hasn’t been much of a deal.
Be prepared to buy a throttle set. I purchased the cheapest throttle I could find while I am waiting for the Beta Throttle set.

The good: Smooth yoke action. Some electrical system and starter switches.
The not so good: All the switches on the yoke handles are too large or ill-placed, or both. The Left set of (Trim) switches are so large one can not reach the pov switch with the thumb when left hand is properly placed on the yoke. One has to either use your right hand to reach over to the pov or release the yoke with the left hand and reposition it uncomfortably high on the handle. When doing so one is very likely to accidentally hit the insanely high button on the back of the yoke that is mapped to reset the view by default in msfs 2020. Utterly useless. To get around this I mapped the right lower rocker switch to do the left and right looks and just ignore the pov hat switch. Honestly even when grasping the yoke normally with the left hand the reset view switch is far too easily hit. I'm considering gluing it in place! Really the ONLY good thing about the yoke is it's smooth action in the push/pull axis. Otherwise, the Logitech Yoke has the Alpha beat. - Was this review helpful to you? - Review: The yoke gets 5 stars. The minor problem with the yoke is the pitch control. It takes a lot of effort to push the nose down. The main problem is the switch panel. It should have been momentary switches instead of toggle switches. You can't look at the position of the switches and tell whether it is on or off. Sometimes you have to flip the switch twice to get it to position you want. The master battery switch has a glitch. You can be flying along and battery power will go off. The button doesn't move, the power just goes off. To correct this problem I erased the data in the yoke input software. Now the switches(also did this for the master alternator)don't work and the problem is solved.
