I purchased it as backup comm with the added benefit of nav. I have since learned that it is very convenient and cost effective tool to listen to weather or gain clearance prior to engine start/run-up.

- Review: I like this handheld. I carry it as a backup when I fly and whenever I am at the airport working on the property for situational awareness. High quality and programmable. Bluetooth is a bit tricky, even with Bose A20s--but it does work. Handheld will never be as strong as an aircraft radio, but better than light gun signals in a pinch.
