I didn’t know what to think about this transceiver before it arrived in the mail. A lot of key features that pilots appreciate weren’t expanded on in the description. It has a built in adjustable squelch for static, and can be used with a headset using the adapter.
My only discrepancy is that the two knobs on top don’t function like the knobs on the radio in the plane. The top knob changes the frequency in .005 intervals, (I’m sure there is a setting to change this), and the collar knob changes the VOLUME, not the full numbers; example 118 -> 119.
Besides that, I can tell that the range is affected by the percentage of the battery being charged, and will update this review as I have had an opportunity to test it out in the air. - Was this review helpful to you? Yes No 2 Other people found this review helpful.
