I got a custom ear mold to fit this headset, so the only thing holding it on to my head is my earpiece. I can significantly hear better than small telex over the ear headsets in cockpit. The volume can be so much less then, it's light and comfortable.
I've never used it otherwise, I think this was made to be used the way I'm using it.
