design not thought through
by Allen from Piedmont SD USA

Pros: does what it says
Cons: design not thought through
Review: It plugs into the lightning port, but it uses a different connector for pass through power. Now I have one more cord to carry. If they would have used the lightning connector on both sides it would have to been perfect.

Would not buy this again. Prefer Bluetooth
by Thomas Traylor from Lincoln NE USA

Pros: Size
Cons: Quality of the plastic staying together, very fragile, consistent signal
Review: I do like the size of this gps. I have only used this gps total of 3 flight and the cover piece came off. So I snapped it back on just for it to come off again hour later. Very annoying while flying. Also one minute I will have a symbol displaying on my foreflight app, and 30-45 mins later I won't. Not sure if I just inherited a lemon or what.

Review: Found product does turn wifi only iPad into GPS. Liked the concept as back up GPS. .
Not impressed with FireWire connection and the mounting of elf onto iPad. Seems to be exposed to movement and damage for marine use.
Managed to damage micro USB pass thru recharge connection on 2nd use. Elf stopped working altogether.
Ordered another unit which stopped working after 3rd day on the water. Struggled with Skipper ap for marine maps with this device. GPS lock sketchy at times
Would not recommend based on my experience.

Best GPS ever
by Robert from Coachella CA USA

Pros: Accurate and easy to carry
Review: This GPS is extremely accurate and easy to use. Unlike many accessories that you get for your Ipad, some thought was given to storage and keeping track of it. You can put it on a lanyard, key chain or belt loop.

Seems fragile
by archlarch from Mid-Atlantic

Cons: Weak internal connection between Bad Elf body and male connector to iPad.
Review: I was able to successfully use the Bad Elf on my iPad for two days then it stopped working. I think the male connecting tab from the Bad Elf has loosened. I've had to give up using the Bad Elf as it is unreliable.

I would buy this product again
by Manuel from Yuma AZ USA

Pros: Accuracy.
Cons: No Stowage
Review: So far so good. Really enjoy using the bad elf with my mini iPad.  Am using it with foreflight pro; work like a charm. Very accurate location. Just have to be very careful when not in use and it's storage. I out mine in a small ziplock baggy. Had a friend whose elf went bad possible because he had it loose in flight bag when not in use. But bad elf replaced it no charge. That was a plus.

As Advertized
by A Customer from Boulder Creek CA USA

Pros: As Advertized!!
Cons: Have not noticed any cons.
Review: Works great North, South, Mid, East Bay Area, California!!
CoPilot works great - Am used to Garmin GPS where there are more voice options(muting, language), other info for the trip (traffic delays, remaining miles) would have made CoPilot excellent.
