Flightcom Denali D90ANR Fixed Wing ANR Headset

Flightcom's Denali is an extremely lightweight headset that offers exceptional performance and outstanding comfort. The Denali is engineered to fit unlike any other aviation headset, providing excellent passive and active noise attenuation, a secure and comfortable fit and extremely reliable performance.

Lightweight Comfort
At less than 14oz, this headset is the lightest ANR model available. Denali's ComLeather™ ear seals help abate noise and offer a comfortable fit. The sleek ear domes stay securely in place, reducing side force.

Dual Inputs for Cell Phone and Portable Music Players
This top-of-the-line model includes dual inputs that support cell phone and Aux connections for communication and entertainment. Automatic muting ensures that all incoming transmissions are instantly heard.

Extended Battery Life
The D90ANR uses two always available AA-size batteries for up to 50 hours of continuous ANR use.

Sure Power System (SPS)
This ANR model also has SPS – a digital power management circuit. The SPS conserves battery life by shutting off the ANR circuit when not in use. Full passive performance is maintained when the ANR circuit is off.

Denali D90 Review from a Cessna Flyer
by Ugur from Istanbul Istanbul Turkey

Pros: reasonable price, practical design, being able to be used with standard size batteries, easy use, cable connection to mobile phones
Cons: sound quality is not comparable with a Bose A20, no bluetooth connection to the mobile
Review: After waiting around 2 weeks, finally I got my Denali headset delivered in Turkey.  I am a PPL-A License holder in Turkey and doing my PIC with C152 and C172's. Needless to say, they are both more than noisy birds :)

The reason I have purchased this bit was first of all it has the ANR property that really reduces the heavy noise and supplies a better comunication with the other pilots and ATC's once compared to the standard headsets. Another positive thing about it is that although it does not have a bluetooth connection property with your mobile, you can connect your mobile to the headset via the cable (that comes already inside the pack) So, you do not have to worry about the missed calls during your flight due to the heavy noise. Because your mobile operates normally once you plug this cable to the head set.

The sound quality is not that of a Bose A20, yet for the price I paid, it is more than perfect. Of corse, I must use this headset for a long time to check the durability...

Be careful while you are adjusting the headset according to your head size and do not try to pull it only from one side of the speakers! Do the size arrangement from the both sides if you have a big head! Otherwise if you force only one of the speakers, you may pull over size and you may stuck it... Do not force it until its limit...

To summerise, I'd advise this headset for amateurs, and privite pilots. If you are a Professional, force your self to pay more and get a better headset.

Excellent noise reduction for a fraction of the cost of the big names
by Claudio from Honolulu HI USA

Pros: Excellent active noise reduction for a cheap price
Cons: None so far
Review: Noise reduction very effective, even without the active turned on. When active turned on, even with window open during high-power runup, engine real quiet. Fits snugly over head without being overly tight. Headband is much more durable in construction than competing headsets in the price range.

Doesn't perform as goos as it looks
by A Customer from Dallas, TX

Pros: Comfortable, good ear piece seal
Cons: ANR isn't much improvement on normal use, electronics
Review: Right speaker went out within 2 months and I can hear the left speaker going out now (4 months after purchase). There is little difference between normal operation and ANR but not as good as it should be; not using ANR works well. The headset is comfortable for flights up to about 6 hours but gets uncomfortable after that. Also, the mic picks up most of the time but cuts out sometimes.

I would buy this product again
by Tammy from Applegate, CA USA

Pros: Good price for the ANR feature
Cons: none
Review: As a student pilot, I was looking for a decent headset that I wouldn't outgrow for a long time. I believe I found it. The cost gave me the ANR feature I wanted, yet, allowed me to be able to afford a few extra lessons compared to the higher priced headsets. I also like the fit; snug & stays put, not too tight.

Great Value. much better than those high priced famous name brands.
by Chris from Ocean City MD USA

Pros: Cost; weight; comfort; looks;, free bag, AA batteries. Warranty service
Cons: Needed warranty work on microphone wire fresh out of package.
Review: A great headset. I have used most brands in my flying career. This is a light weight headset and very comfortable. The ear cups are soft and very comfortable.

My previous GA headset was a Flightcom and it is still being used by my wife after she gave me this new headset for Christmas.

When first delivered, the microphone did not work. Flightcom emailed a package label and fixed the headset and returned it ASAP. It works perfectly now.

The included case is a nice plus.

Just because another headset costs twice as much doesn't mean it works twice as good. The performance matches the competition. I am happy to have the extra $500 in my pocket. That equates to more flight time.

I really like the cell phone and mp3 connections although I needed a size converter plug for my cell phone.

I am really impressed with the ANR performance. The batteries are easy to install and obviously readily available.

Great product
by Greg from Atlanta ga

Pros: Light and comfortable
Cons: Wires could be a little longer
Review: I have used non ANR headsets for years and now I have the used Flightcom Denali D90 ANR for a week and I am very pleased with them. It is an extremely effective headset in flight and very comfortable. Since I wear glasses they muffle the noise very well and kill the background noise. It is very light for extended flights.
