GRE PSR-120 Handheld 800 MHz Scanner
The PSR-120 Handheld Scanner is an affordable scanner featuring the latest,
state-of-the-art receiver designs in a sleek, modern enclosure. The
PSR-120 includes a Service Search Bank which allows you to quickly search
frequencies most commonly used by Public Safety, Marine, Aviation, and Amateur
Radio users.
NOTE: This is a scanner and does NOT have transmit capabilities.
If you wish to transmit and receive aviation frequencies, please browse our
Aviation Transceivers. A scanner is great for picking up ATIS on the
way to the airport, listening to air traffic, listening to airshows, and more.
Features of the PSR-120 Scanner:
- Compact Case Design. 4.875" tall x 2.625" wide x 1.1875" deep and
weighs 6.7 ounces
- Large, easy-viewing, 2.3" display
- Backlighting
- Service Search and Limit Search
- Powerful Spectrum Sweeper
- FIPS Weather Alert
- Lockout Function
- One Priority Channel
- CTCSS and DCS Subaudible Squelch Decoding
- Save up to 300 channels
As opposed to a dedicated
aviation transceiver which is usually limited to the airband, this scanner
allows you to listen to a wider frequency range. You will be able to
listen to NOAA weather stations, public safety channels (fire, ambulance,
police), all airband/aviation frequencies, marine, train dispatcher, FM radio,
and HAM or Amateur Radio.

A:
Yes. An amplified extension speaker (not supplied) with a 1/8 inch (3.5 mm) mini-plug can go into your scanner's jack. Note: You must use an amplified speaker with this scanner. Non-amplified speakers do not provide sufficient volume for comfortable listening.
For private listening, you can plug an 1/8 -inch (3.5-mm) mini-plug earphone or headphones (not supplied), into the jack on the top of the scanner. This automatically disconnects the internal speaker.
