Now Hear This - Third DC Headset
by David Wayne from Pewaukee WI USA

Pros: Comfortable into lengthy flights. Another consideration is that at My Pilot Shop, the price will not require selling your firstborn.
Cons: None noted
Review: Not a replacement, but an addition (w/helicopter adapter).
Very comfortable hearing protection in temperature extremes. Best in fixed wing, but serves well in helo environment.

I would buy this product.

Review: The product I ordered was a gift. The recipient really likes the headset, particularly since he's getting old and hard of hearing. He likes the fit and feel.

Best set of headphone ever
by John from Hartford WI USA

Pros: It does what they say it is supposed to...but better
Cons: I'n not fond of the wart in the middle of the harness but putting it out of the way isn't a problem.
Review: Built with the same standards of durability and quality I expected from David Clark. The noise cancelling and audio quality of the set is superior to other headsets I have used as a primary instructor in the mighty J3. With old ears and glasses, cushion comfort is very important and this headset does the trick. Incidentally, the battery saving feature is excellent.

Very good headset
by Ruben from Ellenville NY USA

Pros: Comfortable, High quality construction, Ear cushions are very soft.
Cons: The small foam protector on the mic seems to come of easily.
Review: I ordered this item and when I went on my first lesson we had to borrow a set from a pilot at the airport. My set had a problem, they did not work. I can at least say that when I got the replacement set I fell in love with them. They are very comfortable. I usually do several hours each day and they almost seem to not be on your head. Very good quality and good sound. I was just a bit upset by the fact that the pilot store overnight-ed the first set to me, I paid for the service. They were defective so they sent me a new set but sent them 5 day shipping. I felt if I paid for overnight the first time they should have sent the second set the same way. Or at least given me the option to rush the second pair.

Worth every penny!!
by A Customer from New York NY USA

Pros: Sound quality is exceptional. Lightweight and easy to operate.
Cons: Cables tend to tangle. Eats batteries. Easy to forget to turn unit off.
Review: Difference in using a noise-cancelling headset vs. a standard unit was truly amazing - and this from a pilot who spent years declining the n-c headset. Definitely worth the expense. In addition to the quality of the unit, the quality of your service (both when the order was placed and in processing same) was a true pleasure.

It Works Great ! ! !
by David from Adamsville TN USA

Pros: Noise Canceling, Comfort, Easy to Use, Adjustable boom, Durable
Cons: The headpad is comfortable but a little bulky, For me it's a small price to pay.
Review: Overall this headset is great. I own an Ercoupe and with the canopy open to the sky and my 100hp engine running wide open, I hear nothing but silence in my headset. I can hear myself and my copilot clearly. ATC is very easy to understand. I wear glasses and this headset seals very good and is still comfortable. I have used some other headsets before and this headset is a frontrunner. The headsets do what they are advertised to do and work wonderfully.

Previous Customer Questions For David Clark H10-13XL Headset:
Ask Your Own Question
On Sunday, January 22, 2012 a customer asked:
Does it come with the storage bag?
A: No, however, David Clark offers a very nice headset bag as an optional accessory here.

On Tuesday, February 22, 2011 a customer asked:
is this headset compatible with the Boeing 737-800 jack recepticale?
A: Yes, it uses the two standard plugs (PJ-055 and PJ-068) found on almost all B-737.

On Monday, August 03, 2009 a customer asked:
Can the H10-13X or XL be used directly with an IPOD?
A: The H10-13X/XL does not have any built-in music interface.  The only David Clark Headset that currently has a built in music interface is the David Clark X11.  However, you can add the aftermarket headset to CD / MP3 adapter so that it does work with the iPod.  There are also a number of aviation headsets from other manufacturers that do include a built-in music interface that can be found on our Aviation Headset Finder tool.  Just click on "ANR" and "Cell Phone / Music" under Headset Features to narrow it down.  If you have any questions or need help, just give us a call at 1-877-314-7575.

On Tuesday, June 23, 2009 a customer asked:
What's the differences between H10-13XL and H10-56HXL? I am particularly interest in the construction and comfort of the headset. Thanks.
A: The main difference is that the 56HXL is a helicopter headset and the 13XL is fixed wing. They are both noise cancelling headsets. For comfort, the 13XL will probably be better for you as it is more lightweight.

On Sunday, June 21, 2009 a customer asked:
Can I use H10-13X in an open cockpit ultralight like Quicksilver MXL II with Rotax 503 two stroke engine?
A: Sure, as long as your aircraft is set up to connect a headset with the dual fixed wing PJ-068 and PJ-055B plugs.

On Thursday, December 18, 2008 a customer asked:
Will this unit fit in the R-22 Heli?
A: No, this is a fixed wing headset.  For a Robinson R-22 helicopter you would want the David Clark H10-13HXL.

On Friday, February 15, 2008 a customer asked:
What is the difference between the David Clark H10-13X and David Clark H10-13XL
A: The David Clark H10-13XL has the option to be powered either by the detachable battery box or a panel-powered plug.

On Tuesday, January 15, 2008 a customer asked:
I purchased two of these headsets, now my problem is I need a 25 foot coiled extension cable for it. What do you recommend? I need it ASAP.
A: They do not make a 25' coiled extension cable for this headset. Are you trying to use this for ground support? If so, some of the ground support headsets do have an option for a 25' coiled extension cord.
