Good value
by A Customer from San Francisco CA USA

Pros: Sound quality, mic
Cons: Too tight
Review: Everything works just as described, the sound quality is excellent. My only complaint is that it's a bit tight and started to make my head sore on a 2 hour flight. Probably best for passengers or for use on short flights.

Good headset for the money
by Steven from Fayetteville NC USA

Pros: Price, volume controls
Cons: I have to tilt the mic towards my mouth to get my voice to pick up
Review: I'm new to aviation and I ordered two of these headsets mainly because of the great price. They work just fine for getting around! The only issue is I have to tilt the mic at a 45' angle for my voice to pick up. Overall I am satified with the product.

Economical and Practical
by Matthew from Lancaster PA USA

Pros: Price, performance is excellent
Cons: A little heavy for long flights.
Review: I just started flying not too long ago and thought that it would be a good idea to purchase my own headset rather than paying $20 to rent them all the time. This is a good set to being your training with. I wouldn't want to wear these for 5 hours at a time because of the weight, but they are an excellent alternative to the $800 sets.

Been using mine for 8 years!!
by Chris from TN

Pros: Best value for the money.
Cons: none for the price bracket
Review: I bought it because it looked like good value for the money. I used it in stock condition for 5 years. I since added an Oregan Aero hush kit and new ear seals. As I progressed to louder and louder cockpits, I finally installed a jack in one ear cup so I could use communications earplugs underneath it. My trusty little $120 headset has been upgraded to a $300 headset that is quieter than any other stock headset in the world. Yes, 300% better than the Bose, and 100% better than an ANR equiped David Clark. For the new pilot, buy a solid headset such as this and upgrade it with Oregon Aero, in-ear plugs, or ANR as your budget and needs require. It will work fine in any Cessna or Piper, but you will need to upgrade it as I have to use it in a Pitts, Extra, etc.

Bad idea for adjustments
by A Customer from palm beach gardens FL USA

Review: Good price but, quality seems to be ok. Head band is too tight and having trouble stretching it out. You need a wrench to adjust the ear hieght.

Previous Customer Questions For Flightcom 4DLX Headset:
Ask Your Own Question
On Saturday, December 15, 2007 a customer asked:
Q:
Is this a single or two pin jack, and what radio can be used with it.
A: This uses the standard dual plugs (PJ-058 and PJ-068) found on almost all civilian fixed wing aircraft.

On Tuesday, January 16, 2007 a customer asked:
Q:
does the Flightcom 4DLX Headset have an adapter to work on 2.5mm cell phones? If not, do any other headsets offer this feature?
A: No, none of the FlightCom headsets have a cell phone interface. You can buy a product like the SafetyCell adapter (that we also sell) to connect this headset to a cell phone. Or, all of the LightSPEED headsets have a cell phone adapter, some of the SoftComm headsets also have the cell phone and higher end ANR headsets such as the Sennheiser HMEC-460 or David Clark X11 will also have the cell phone adapter.
