Basic Groundschool on your Schedule

Pros: In depth, Interesting
Cons: Expert interviews can be long, The Navigation section only showed how to use one type of plotter.
Review: I got this to help me pass my FAA written exam. The way the dvd segments were broken down was good. The learning curb and pace was also good. The in depth visual aides helped tremendously. The only downside is that I found the prep software a little outdated, and when it came to the navigation chapter it only illustrated how to use a certain type of plotter (the one with the spinning wheel in it).

It's like having a ground instructor at home whenever you have the time to study

Pros: Just as educational as the actual ground school class I took but at a less expensive cost
Cons: The inability to ask questions. Also, some of the review questions after each topic were rather elementary and could have been a little more challenging
Review: This was a really good overview of all the necessary topics required for the private pilot certifcicate and you also have the luxury of watching whatever subject multiple times if needed.
I paid $395 for a ground school instructor class before taking flying lessons and this video was (I believe $120 +/-) so it is an economic way of learning the material. The drawback to videos is that you don't have the opportunity to ask questions.
The weather segment was an excellent section since it was done by a pilot/weatherman.

Review: I listened to this while eating dinner or other things. It is a good set to put you to sleep at night. Information was helpful, but more importantly the practice test program really helped me study for the exam. I would like it better if the program was sold seperate and the price was less. But if your going to "Home School" it, the DVD's might be more helpful.

I am not sure if this product will help the student pilot to pass her/his knowledge test, however it is a cheap and good source of help for the pilot studying for her/his biennial review.

the material is a great resource to an actual classroom presentation. I was surprised to find that the first thing on the list to do is to read chapter one of a book NOT included in this package.

My experience with the test prep has been given me the education that I was hoping to recieve. There is no damaged material in the package that would dissatisfy me as a customer. I will be buying more products from "my pilot store".
