Usable but not great! by Tim - Long EZ driver from Ramona CA USA
Pros: The music option is very nice. Cons: Comfort level is not conducive for long distance flying. Review: The sound and clarity of the speakers are very good. They are not as comfortable as I had hoped. The plastic covered foam ear pieces tend to get sticky/sweaty under a hot canopy. For the price this head set is OK. I would not buy it again though.

Very Effective Headset by A Customer from Woodstock GA USA
Pros: Light, Comfortable, Good Audio, Good Isolation Cons: Sometimes ANR doesn't cancel quick enough when speaking. Mic gain can be increased though and that should fix this. Review: Very comfortable headset with the standard ear cup padding. They would certainly be even more comfortable with the optional gel padding. They are light weight and adjustable to help relieve pressure points. Audio quality is good with or without ANR. I only gave these 4 stars since I don't have anything else to compare it to. Are there better headsets? Probably some. Are there worse headsets? Definately many.

Good value by Daniel from Madison WI USA
Pros: Good value, comfortable Cons: Battery life is ok but not outstanding Review: I wanted an ANR headset but didn't want to pay a premium. I own 2 Stratus 30s and have found them to be just what I needed. True, passive headsets are much cheaper, but the low frequency range disappears using the Stratus 30 and the set is comfortable to wear. Volume controls on the ear piece are better for me than in-line / cord controls becasue you can quickly adjust them night or day.

Comfortable and effective. by Gary. 172 pilot from Modesto CA USA
Pros: comfortable Cons: none to date Review: Since pressure on my head is an issue these adjusted with the soft pressure adjustment setting are working out very well. They are not heavy and the noise reduction works very well.

Very Impressed by Travis from New Richmond IN USA
Pros: affordable Cons: have to purchase adapter for iphone microphone Review: Affordable ANR entry level headset. Extremely comfortable. Have used a Bose before and prefer the stratus.

Solid headset for the money by fishorfly from Jacksonville FL USA
Pros: Good controls, squelch, and microphone. Noise cancelling works well even when moving head side to side. Good value for the money Cons: a little heavy, instructions are weak for describing how to use the controls and adjust the tension on the headset Review: Definitely met my expecttions. Needed a couple of headsets for a 172 that typically flies for less than 2 hours, but requires a good ability to talk back and forth with good noise cancelling particularly while scanning (moving head side to side)

by Noel from Orlando FL USA
Review: Really nice, comfortable and technically good. I would like to see the head padding in leather as the plastic gets sweaty and looks rather cheap.

Who am I to judge? by Dick, a Twin Comanche Pilot from Dallas TX USA
Pros: See above Cons: See above Review: Even though I'm a 4,000 hour pilot, I've never had the pleasure of using the newer, up scale, noise canceling headsets like the Bose. My experience is with plain jane headsets at the Pilot brand level. I had higher hopes for the Telex brand than it provided. Even with the cams adjusted for least pressure on the ears, I felt some "head clamp" fatigue after 3.4. and 5 hour flights. The ear seals seemed good, possibly because even with the least "frm" setting, they were still firmly planted on my ears. I feel like ambient noise reduction was greater than my previous headset, and the audio quality was a step up also. I was disappointed in the noise reduction effect. Seems like turning it on gets rid of some low freq rumble, but on one leg of a recent trip, I forgot to turn it on and didn't realize it. That may be a left handed compliment to the overall quality of the headset even with the noise reduction feature turned off. I was expecting more difference with the noise reduction turned on than the set provided. Bottom line, I don't have enough experience with the newer noise reduction headsets to give you a useful evaluation of the Telex. I don't care if you publish the above, but I really don't think my comments are useful to anyone. Thanks for asking.

I would by this product again by jack from North Olmsted OH USA
Review: So far the headset is just what I wanted, not too expensive, I'm flying a CT and for what I needed no complaints at all.

A very practical, no frills headset. by A Customer from
Pros: comfortable, quiet Cons: battery pack for ANR slightly awkward Review: The Stratus 30 is a comfy, low profile headset. Being 6'3 and flying small SEl aircraft can be tight which is why this headset is great. The noise cancelling is almost unnecessary due to the fantastic passive cancelling. Great intermediate headset. Definitely bang for your buck!

I like it by student pilot from Moscow ID USA
Pros: ANR, comfort, clear sound Cons: heavy/bulk Review: This was my first headset I bought during flight training after looking at a few with my flight instructor. The sound quality is great. The ANR works well and it is very quiet, but you can still hear the engine with it too. It is comfortable, but gets a little heavy on longer flights. I would probably buy it again.

Good Product by Bernard from Fall River MA USA
Pros: Size, handling, ease of use and fit Cons: heavy battery pack Review: Excellent fit; good noise suppression; not heavy and in a Citabria with a noisy electronic interference from God-knows where, still heard all the radio calls loud and clear. Worth the price. One of my prime reasons for buying a Telex headset is because it is made in the USA. Forget the other stuff; Buy American!

Best bang for the buck by Corey from Beaumont TX USA
Review: Good headset. Easily adjustable and would recomend it to anyone. The padding can get a little uncomfortable on those really long x-countries but still better then the DC I have tried.

Plan to add another one for our other passengers by William from Henning MN USA
Pros: MyPilot Store website was easy to use and convenient Cons: none. Review: Very comfortable headset. I like how the ANR works and has the added benefit of Cell phone and ipod jacks for my passenger spouse to use. Good case to carry in. Light weight. I also like the fact that it was made in Minnesota

Well, up until my last flight..... by Erik from APO AP USA
Pros: Good starter headset Cons: Comfort may start to slide on longer flights Review: The only reason I have to give this product four stars is because on my last flight, I experienced a high pitched ear screeching feedback type noise. I am only a student pilot so I don't have a lot of experience with headsets or their common problems. The sound quality seems superb, I guess the ANR works well enough. The comfort seems great for my training flights but seems like the bulk and weight may get to ya' on a long cross country.

Not too shabby by Boss from Houston, Texas
Pros: Looks nice, decent noise cancellation, convinent volume knob Cons: uncomfortable after long trips, mic tends to get fuzzy and cut off Review: Overall it is a good headset. I wanted something with a lot of noise cancellation and for the most part it does a good job, though i would have liked a little more cancellation. It is not overwhelming heavy but on long trips it does aggravate my ears and make them sweat, so if you fly on long trips all the time I would probably recommend something more comfortable and with more noise cancellation.

Great value in ANR headset by Larry from Titusville, PA
Pros: High Value for price Cons: none Review: Met my expectations, as good as my lightspeed Twenty 3G which I believe I paid a little more for. Nice features with cell phone plug as well as IPOD/MP3 player plug. Has a nice pad on top which helps the headset stay comfortable on flights over an hour.

Good product, others possibly better by John from Georgia
Pros: tension adjustment, comfort Cons: sound quality is little rough at times but never bad, Review: The Telex Stratus 30 is a great headset for a more entry level if your looking for ANR. However, Lightspeed has a comparable priced model that has better noise reduction and more comofort aroudn the ears. I really like the ability to adjust the tension on the head with the Telex. This makes longer flights much more comfortable. The cell phone and acessory inputs are really nice as well. I do like the lower profile of this headset over the Lightspeed. All in all it's a good headset, but I would probably buy the Lightspeed next time.
