by Bill from Vaiden Field, Marion AL USA
Pros: Rugged, Good sound attenuation, good price for value. Cons: A little heavy, but good enough for primary flight training (most flights under 2 hours). Review: Purchased for primary flight students. For that purpose, it is rugged, comfortable, and as quiet as passive systems get.

A nice alternative. by Samuel from Hellertown, PA
Pros: Price, good alternative to David Clark, solid construction Cons: None Review: This is my first headset, so my frame of reference is 'the cheapo rental headsets' at my aviation school and the really nice David Clark one I've been able to borrow from my CFI on occasion. The comparable David Clark is $30 more and doesn't have a couple of the extra features (like the cell phone adapter) but I haven't actually used those features so can't really review them. But as a general purpose headset, the 25XT gets the job done. It's comfortable and the noise cancellation is great. Volume control on each ear and a good mic are both very helpful.

Works great in a Gulfstream! by A Customer from White Plains NY USA
Pros: great bang for the buck. I would buy this again. Cons: I have none. It was just what I was looking for. Review: Headset works well, just as advertised. It has an excellent seal and noise suppressing capabilities while being very light and comfortable. Mic qualities are also superb. It is a bit bulky, but that is to be expected from a headset of this type.

May not look hip, but it's an amazing headset by Vanessa from Salt Lake City UT USA
Pros: Can hardly hear any prop noise, extremely comfortable. Cons: On long trips, you can feel the squeeze but it passes. This, headset, from what I hear doesn't have nearly the clamp as other sets. Review: This headset may look like a kid built it (not the hippest design out there), but it sure works! The other day, I took off my headset in flight and couldn't believe how loud my GA plane is, that's because this headset nearly makes you deaf in the cockpit (a great thing) because all you hear is the clear clear voices of the tower/pilots. As a new pilot, I don't want to dink around with all the ANR gadgets nor spend the money. This headset makes communication clear and concise, and the padding around the ears makes it amazingly comfortable.

Meets my needs by Bill from Wisconsin Rapids WI USA
Pros: Price, effective passive noise attentuation, cell phone connection Cons: Just a little heavier than I would like Review: Due to a health issue (a persistent head cold), I've only been able to use this headset for one trip so far. However, that one trip was a pretty good test, and I must say I am very pleased. For several reasons, I didn't want an ANR headset, so, after carefully researching the other options, I chose this one. What sold me on it was a good combination of price and features. Especially handy for someone like me, who must fairly often pick up a clearance by phone, was the easy-to-use cell phone connection. It works great and is a huge improvement over having to take off a headset to use the phone while the engine is running in the run-up pad.

I really like my new Echelon 25XT by Steve McLaughlin from Odessa, TX
Pros: All good, I believe it is worth the price. Cons: None, unless you want ANR features. Review: Very happy with my purchase. Didn't know if I needed an ANR, but this passive fills the bill. Relatively no frills, but includes music and phone cords. Like the look, feel, comfort. Flew for 1.7 hours, never gave a second thought to the headset, until I pulled lean to shut down. Probably will order another one for my passengers soon. (C-172)

Don't overlook this one! by Nato Potatoe from Grand Rapids, MI
Pros: Sound is great. Comfort is awesome. Great Value Cons: wide earphones. should have lower profile volume control knobs. Asthetics could be better. It looks kind of cheap. Review: I bought this set and a DC H10-13.4. I figured I could try them both and keep the best. I tried both on for extended periods. The 25xt was more comfortable. The 25xt adjusted quickly and stayed where I put it. The earcups and headband were very comfortable. The boom mic is mounted on the bottom of the ear speaker so it stays out of your periferal vision and is not distracting. Probably don't really need individual volume control for each ear. I haven't used the additional inputs yet. Definately recommend to anyone.
