example, the new comfort fitting, adjustable foam-filled head pads are designed
to conform to head contours and eliminate "hot spots" on those extra long
flights. The super-soft foam ear seals are made to surround the ears with quiet
comfort, block noise interference and provide the optimum "no-squeeze" fit for
hours of use. (The children's ear seals are especially made the right size just

Active Noise Reduction, the Model C-45-20 is above all competition in its price

The improved solid state, M-56 electret condenser microphone offers the
finest in audio clarity. Likewise, this noise-canceling microphone is capable of
rejecting most outside noise and at the same time, provide clear, crisp voice
transmission. The four-way adjustable "friction boom" allows for precision
placement of the microphone and can be position on either side of the mouth.
The long, 66 inch, heavy duty cable assemblies are made to withstand strains
up to 95 pounds and retain their flexibility from -40° to +120°(F). Attached to
the cables are gold plated connector plugs which are designed to eliminate
connector static.

Acceptable Headphones by JOHN from NOBLESVILLE IN USA
Pros: Comfortable Cons: technology Review: These headphones are comfortable for long periods. The ANR worked the first time but had a loud static sound the second time requiring the system to be turned off.

Review: My wife Loves this headset. I find the noise canceling box a bit awkward to use and a bit fragile. Regardless we have several hours of use with it in the plane and it seems to work well and like I said my wife loves it and thats all that really matters

Excellent value for money by Derek from Shoal Point QLD Australia
Pros: Value, value and value Cons: Overall finish is not A1 Review: I have previously reviewed this product but although I have not changed my view on this item I just thought I needed to clarify some of my points. The most important point is it is exceptional value for money. I did notice some defects / imperfections in some of the moulded parts but these are not detrimental to the function and strength and are not unsightly. The plastic frame does not fit the ear cups 100% but again fit for purpose and adequate. The acoustic qualities are good but I would have preferred to see the gel type earmuff cushions. BUT please remember these are about a third of the price of a DC headset and with the average recreational pilot using these for passengers they would last 5-10 years. Your DC headset would most likely be obsolete if it was still functional in 30 years. As a pilot I would still buy DC or equivalent for myself due to regularity of use and possibly simply "peer pressure" For the PAX these are an excellent choice.

Pros: Honest comfortable performer Cons: Generated noise & higher frequency spectrum gets through. Review: Comparing in 'passive' mode with its predecessor showed its sound reduction was noticeably worse. The ANR inserts in the earpiece possibly now create a rigid sound path. I experimented with their securing screws removed to break that 'path' but no better result. Also successively tried headband & ear surrounds borrowed from my older (non ANR) 'Prince' without improvement. In my 'plane sound reduction is better with the C-45-20ANR when actived than the Prince was. But I now get a new 'whistling' noise on transmit, which the distant ground station hears too, which the ANR must be picking up & amplifying. That hasn't been traced. Softcomm kindly sent me replacement earseals when I reported I'd torn one in the first few days use.
