Cons: bad battery
Review: Battery would only charge up to 7/8 at full charge. After that it kept going down. After 2 weeks it would only take less than half charge.

Q: i plug in my gps 296 for charging and in the screen apears this "" battery missing "" and its new never been used, but its been stored with the battery for 2 years more or less...but it turns on only if its conected...so that means the battery dont work??
A:
Generally that error message means that the battery has gone bad. However, you can try leaving the battery in the unit and leaving it ON until the battery runs itself all the way down. Then, fully charge the battery (about 5-8 hours) and then try turning the unit on again.
