The Complete G1000 Course Interactive Software
- 9 customer reviews.

Effective orientation program for all the models that have standardized
on the Garmin G1000 glass cockpit system, including Cessna, Columbia, Diamond,
Mooney, and Beech!
The Complete G1000 Course is now a FAA/Industry Training Standard (FITS)
product, which means it was found to be more convenient, more accessible, less
expensive, and more relevant to today's users of the National Airspace System.
This is the only G1000 computer-based tutorial to achieve this FAA endorsement!
The Complete G1000 Course will help you transition from steam-gauge "round
dials" to the Technically Advanced Aircraft (TAA) glass cockpit environment.
This interactive software allows you to practice becoming proficient in
operating the G1000 from the safety and privacy of your home or office computer.
The intuitive software interface makes this as easy to use as reading a book.
Computer learning tools in the form of cockpit representations and
demonstrations of the tasks combine with a Part 141 and and FITS-compliant G1000
course, which is given by Skyline Aeronautics and in forums around the country.
In this way the software teaches you how to safely and efficienty use the G1000
without running up the Hobbs!
According to Michael G. Gaffney, President of Skyline Aeronautics in St.
Louis, "This software product is a culmination of months of cooperation between
the FAA, ASA, and Skyline Aeronautics. This cooperation and dedication to
produce this excellent software product will truly benefit any pilot flying the
G1000 integrated instrument panel by providing a professional scenario-based and
student centric training program that will lead to a safe and enjoyable flight
experience, taking advantage of this fantastic combination of aircraft and panel
technology."
You'll stay engaged throughout the course; you have the option of of reading
and navigating through the program yourself, or listening to the narrator as he
guides you through the course. The search function means you can navigate
directly to a specific keyword or topic for a quick refresher. Using
scenario-based training throughout, each lesson concludes with a summary and a
quiz to ensure you understand the material. A student record tracks your
progress and at the completion you will receive a framable Certificate of
Completion as proof of your accomplishment.
Achieve an effective scan, obtain an orientation to the screens, knobs and
buttons, understand how to properly operate the G1000 and interpret system
malfunctions. Applicable to both VFR and IFR operations, and all aircraft
installations of the G1000. The Complete G1000 Course will help you master the
glass cockpit from your computer and incorporate these lessons into your

An very good and inexpensive first step by Fr. Ross Syracuse from Baltimore MD USA
Pros: Pretty straight forward and clear. Cons: For the price--none! Review: For the price it worked out very well. I took the course (and passed the final) before my first flight with the G1000 in a C172. I was able to get checked out and "signed off" after only two flights, including IFR. It saved me the time and, more importantly, the expense of more flights. Those in charge like the fact that there was an official certificate.

This DPE would deffinately purchase this course again ! by Al from Sedona AZ USA
Review: I use the course for a review for my G-1000 instrument checks. It is an excellent source for developing oral questions. Due to the extensive integration of the G-1000 system it is absolutely necessary for instrument pilots to occasionally review the functions of the G1000 system. This is particularly necessary since general aviation instrument pilots sometimes lack the activity level to keep up with the system. I think you would be doing the general aviation public a valuable service if you would market your product not directed just to pilots receiving their initial instrument rating in G1000 aircraft, but more importantly to pilots who have their instrument rating to maintain a high level of proficiency in the G1000 system. Thank you for producing such a wonderful product which helps me provide comprehensive instrument checks. Al Bieber FAA Supervisory Principal Operations Inspector, Retired.

Complete waste of money by A Customer from USA
Review: This product was an EXTREME disappointment. It is advertised as an interactive tool which teaches a pilot how to operate the G1000. In fact, there is no interaction whatsoever. At no point in any portion of this program is the student given the opportunity to navigate through menus him/herself, or to interact with any of the functions of the system. This program leaves the student no better prepared than if he/she were approaching the system for the first time. As an instructor who purchased this software as an aid to my students, I can say with total assurance that this is a horrible product, not worth the CD it's printed on. It was my intent to buy something better than a DVD or book. I payed twice as much, and got something with half the value.

Review: I was dissappointed with the visual quality. I could not easily see the dials, knobs, buttons etc, nor what they were labeled. I did not like the format of the course. Maybe I am just not familiar with the format that was used. I don't believe the screens were helpful for that reason. I will received delivery of my new DA40XLS in a few weeks. I guess I will have to wait until then to get the overall feel of the system.

Excellent, for the price. by A Customer from Louisiana
Review: The ASA G1000 course does cover the basics and is an excellent value. The King G1000 Course is much more in-depth, but it costs approximately three times as much.
As an instructor, I like the ASA G1000 being FITS approved and the fact that more than one student can use the course.

Not very interactive by Dan Wyson from Saint George Utah
Review: I expected more interation from a DVD. This was nothing more than a book on DVD. Reading a book page by page would have given the same results without having to wait on the software - and for less money. There was some minimal interaction but very little.

Review: This product is terrible and I am extremely dissapointed to have spent this much money!

by Rick Phillips from Birmingham, AL
Pros: Follows the Garmin manual. Little left out to learn elsewhere. Cons: None of the humor to break the monotony that is found in a King DVD. Review: The course is thorough and follows the Garmin handbook. Went into more detail than the King course, which also is an excellent course. I would advise buying both courses as they compliment each other.
