JRC JHP-500 / JHP-520 1650mAh NI-MH Battery
- 1 customer reviews.

Aftermarket replacement NI-MH battery for the JRC JHP-520 and JHP-500. This is an
extra-high capacity long life 1650mAh NI-MH battery. Replaces the
original CNB-152 battery.
What's the difference between Ni-Cad and Ni-MH batteries?
The main difference between the two is that NiMH battery (the newer technology
of the two) offers a higher energy density than NiCads. In other words, the
capacity of a NiMH is approximately twice the capacity of its NiCad counterpart.
What this means is for you is increased run-time from the battery with no
additional bulk or weight. NiMH also offers another major advantage: NiCad
batteries tend to suffer from what is called the "memory effect". NiMH batteries
are less prone to develop this problem and thus require less maintenance and
conditioning. NiMH batteries are also more environmentally friendly than NiCad
batteries since they do not contain heavy metals (which present serious landfill
problems).
Will my original wall charger work with this battery?
Yes, this battery will work just like the battery that came with your
transceiver. It's the same size and form factor and can use the same wall
charger that came with your radio.

Pros: Good, long battery life. Cons: None, none at all. Review: this is a great addition to the radio. It's dratted Ni-Cad lasted about 2 months before it developed a memory problem that limited it's capacity to about an hour, and the AA battery pack was so crappily constructed, it lasted through about 3 days of use before it became unusable.

A:

On Monday, November 26, 2007 a customer asked:
Q: My JRC JHP-520 has a battery pack that uses 9 AA Batteries. The battery Pack has broken. If I use the above battery pack, does the charger come with it or do I buy that seperately? If so do you sell the charger?
A:
If you have the original wall charger that came with your JHP-520 it will work with this battery. If not, the wall charger is sold separate and can be purchased at 110V Wall Charger (JHP 500/520).
