Thinning material

Cons: Material is way to thin
Review: The material is so thin compared to what these shirts use to be, they are almost not there. When I put them on, I'm almost afraid I will put my arm right through the shirt. Van Heusen has gotten way to cheap and I will have to look for another brand of uniform shirts next time I'm in need.

I would buy this product again

Good, but not perfect

Review: I bought two of these shirts when I got recalled. One of them had a button hole that had the threads coming apart and both of them had loose threads around the pockets. I would have returned them if I had time but will have to live with them.

Sharp looking and very comfortable.

could be better

Review: My veterans organization made the decision not to allow members to wear the Khaki shirt and directed us to wear the pilot style shirt. I'm sure the shirt is of good quality and is comfortable for a pilot in the cockpit but I am accustomed to a shirt that will take and hold military creases. Had the material had more cotton in the blend it would starch up better but I suppose it was not designed to be a ceremonial shirt. S/F Gunner

A little short...

Shirts getting tighter...

Review: It seems like the newer Van Heusen shirts are not as generous in the amount of material apportioned to the maid body of the shirt...the collar dimensions may be correct but they seem to be taking a bit out of the rest of the shirt. I've always bought Van Heusen shirts but I may have to rethink them in the future.

Good enough for ''The Marine Corp Leauge''.

Cons: Limited neck sizes in the long sleeves.

Good Value

Review: If you have a short neck like most guys, the collar may be a touch high. I wear it open so it works for me. The shirt tends to pull out at the sides so a longer shirt or less of a cut on the sides would help.

Unexpected

Review: The Pilot shirts don't have wing slots for screw-in type pilot wings. Maybe for the pin type wings. Doesn't say when you order. I had to create holes in the shirts to accommodate my pilots wings.

I like this shirt but........

Cons: the pen opening stitching fails after 3-4 washings
Review: This Van Heusen shirt is very comfortable and, for the most part, very durable. The one irritating thing about this shirt is that the stitching on the pocket where your pen goes lacks quality. I'm talking about that little stitch on the inboard side of the opening. I've talked to Van Heusen about this and even returned shirts when that stitching gives way after about 3 or 4 washings and what was a nice opening for a pen becomes a flap. However VanHeusen continues to sell shirts with this inferior stitching. I have started adding stitching to this little place ahead of time to try to keep it from coming apart. That part of the shirt fails well before the shirt becomes otherwise unwearable.

Rash around neck

Cons: Rough material, anti-stain cause rash
Review: This shirt is very stiff and rough around the neck and is treated with some sort of anti-stain protection which caused me to break out into a rash around the neck. It improved over numerous washings (better then 10), I no longer get a rash but my neck still gets tender. I will not purchase this shirt again. I have never had problems with a shirt like this before. Good luck.

Exactly as described

Cons: A bit rough until washed a few times
Review: Shirt is same design as U.S. Air Force long sleeve uniform shirt, including tapered pockets and equalets, making for a professional appearance no matter what the occasion. Although material feels a bit rough at first, a few washings and dryings (with fabric softner) will "soften" it up. Ironed in creases will stay once created, a definate plus when caring for your own shirts. Material is a poly/cotton blend, and is excellent for stain release, although it is not stain-proof. Absorbtion of material is minimal, and if you spill something on it, or have a short stint in the rain, it will easily shed the liquid. Shirt is full cut, not tapered, excellent for those with a few extra pounds or who like a roomy shirt. Shirt is also approved for wear with Civil Air Patrol uniform, as it is the same as USAF Class A/B uniform shirt, except white.
