Jeppesen the best at 99%. Heres the 1% left.

  • By Grady Scott Thomas on Sunday, January 12, 2020
  • Pros: Font size and brighter pages makes it easer to read.
  • Review: Over the years the Jeppesen version of the FAR/AIM is superior to other products in font size, brighter pages and clarity. I have had them all. Now the only one improvement they could make is yellow marker ink seeping through the page. Not a easy task to correct, I guess. I took both a Jeppesen and a ASA FAR/AIM together and marked them to see which leaked less. To my surprise the ASA book leaked less where it was hard to find the markings on the following page. I know it’s a small thing, but I get a new book every year. Jeppesen is still the best at 99%.

I won't buy any other version . . .

  • By Bill from Pittsburgh PA USA on Tuesday, January 16, 2018
  • Pros: Format size, text size, price
  • Review: [This review refers to a previous edition.] I bought the Jepp version for years, then mistakenly ordered the ASA version last year. Hated it. It was really difficult to read and the slightly narrower format also makes it impossible to open and lay flat on a table. While the ASA version has a PDF available - which is a shortcoming of the Jepp offering - I prefer print to PDF for the FAR/AIM so that I can notate, highlight, put PostIt Notes to mark what I'm studying, etc.

  • Pros:
  • Review: [This review refers to a previous edition.] I had the ASA version but went to the Jeppesen for the larger fonts (I have older eyes). For me, it's a little easier to read due to the print size and layout. But that also also makes it thicker, larger and heavier than the ASA. I think it's an awkward size. Other than that, it has everything you need to know.
