I would have no problems ordering this product again or recommending it to another pilot.
by CC from Leesburg FL USA

Pros: Compared to similar products on the market it is quite a bargain. Functionaity and price are well matched.
Cons: Nothiong negative!!!!
Review: Nothing flashy or special as far as quality or componets but for the money it is an excellent product. I do not think I would have gotten twice as much adaptor for twice the money.

Simple
by Brett from Oakland CA USA

Pros: Simple
Cons: Cost
Review: Very simple. If you have a helicopter headset, you need an adaptor for general aviation use. This is that adapter. I just wish it were a bit less expensive.

Great Product
by Phil from Tennessee

Pros: Works Well
Cons: Not enough shielding around connector, get some cheap shrink wrap and seal it off in case it gets a little damp
Review: Was told by David Clark that I needed to buy the David Clark product for 80 bucks. This is a great product, and will save you a lot of money.

Previous Customer Questions For Helicopter to Standard Fixed Wing Adapter:
Ask Your Own Question
On Thursday, June 04, 2009 a customer asked:
Q:
Hello, I have a David Clark headset (military) Model H10-76XL. I would like to use it in the civilian airplanes like cessnas and what not.. What adapter should I use? What is the deal with all this "impedence". Thank you. Joe
A: You would need the David Clark Conversion Kit which includes an adapter to convert the U174 plug on the H10-76XL to dual plugs for fixed wing civilian use as well as an electret mic to swap out for the dynamic one on the 76. Military headsets are typically low impedance and will not work for general aviation which is why conversion is necessary.

On Tuesday, May 12, 2009 a customer asked:
Q:
Will this convert a David Clark H10-37 military headset to be able to be used in a civilian aircraft?
A: Yes, the David Clark H10-37 headset is a high impedance headset, so all that you would need to convert it to use in a civilian aircraft is this Helicopter to Standard Fixed Wing Adapter.

On Monday, March 02, 2009 a customer asked:
Q:
I would like to use two David Clark H20-16 headsets on a Flightcom 11sx intercom. Which adapter do I need?
A: You would need two of these adapters to convert the David Clark H20-16 Helicopter headsets to a dual plug which would then fit in the FlightCom IIsx intercom.

On Friday, February 27, 2009 a customer asked:
Q:
Will this work with DC H10-66 without changing the mic? The H10-66 has a HI Lo impedance switch on the headset.
A: Yes, this will convert the plug on an H10-66 for general aviation fixed wing use. You do not need to switch the mic out on that particular headset.

On Wednesday, January 07, 2009 a customer asked:
Q:
Will the adapter covert a D.C. H10-13HX single plug into a double plug cord useful for private aircraft?
A: Yes, that is exactly what this adapter will do for you.

On Thursday, November 06, 2008 a customer asked:
Q:
Hello We have a H1076 David Clark military headset that we would like to convert to civilian use in a fixed wing aircraft. Will the Helicopter to Standard Fixed Wing Adapter work in this case? Product # 1251? Please help me out so my husband can go flying! Thanks, Brooke
A: You would need to use this JB-08 Helicopter to Fixed Wing Adapter, however you would also need to swap out the mic for an electret one. We offer both the adapter and the electret mic together in an H10-76 Conversion Kit.

On Wednesday, September 17, 2008 a customer asked:
Q:
I have a David Clark model H10-13H. Will this work with that model?
A: Yes, this will convert your David Clark H10-13H helicopter headset to be used in a dual plug fixed wing setup.

On Friday, April 04, 2008 a customer asked:
Q:
I have a u-174/u headset. I have the heli to GA adapter. how do i convert the impediace?
A: If you need to convert impedance you will need the Low to High Impedance Adapter.

On Saturday, November 17, 2007 a customer asked:
Q:
Will this work with a Bose Head set?
A: Yes, it will work with a portable (not hard-wired) Bose headset.

On Thursday, December 28, 2006 a customer asked:
Q:
I have a David Clark headset that was given to me, but it has connector plug with 4 contacts ( Mic & headset in one) Is the Helicopter to General aviation adapter the corret one to allow use of the headset in a general aviation aircraft. (my present headset has two separate plugs, 2 conductor, one slightly smaller than the other)
A: Do you know the model number of the David Clark headset that you have? If it's a military headset it will have a single plug. Some can be adapter simply using this adapter and some will require a different microphone as well (i.e. the David Clark H10-76 will also require the 1142-22 microphone).
