The Turbine Pilot's Flight Manual

Whether you are a piston pilot preparing for turbine ground school, a transitioning military pilot boning up for that first corporate or airline interview, or an old pro brushing up on turbine aircraft operations, The Turbine Pilot's Flight Manual is designed for you. Authors Greg Brown and Mark Holt cover all the basics, clearly explaining the difference between turbine aircraft and their piston engine counterparts.

Addresses:

  • High speed aerodynamics
  • Coordinating multipilot crews
  • Wake turbulence
  • Navigating in high-altitude weather
  • and More

The authors clarify complex topics with a wealth of illustrations and for the first time include in this edition the multimedia Aircraft Systems CD-ROM. Access narrated color animations that make complex systems easier than ever to understand.

Includes a glossary of airline and corporate aviation terminology, handy turbine pilot rules-of-thumb, and a comprehensive turbine aircraft Spotter's Guide.

Softcover, illustrated, 8.5" x 11", 272 pages.

Pros: Informative, interesting, educational.
Cons: I could use color pictures even if it meant raising the cost of the book.
Review: It was awesome! Unique information only found in this book. Not especially complicated, but just not found anywhere else type of information!

Good read
by Anton from Chicago IL USA

Pros: Easy read. Flow is good.
Cons: None
Review: The book is well written and specifically aimed at the wanna-be professional pilot transition to turbine engines, who has no previous training in this area. It has been helpful to me in understanding turbine basics, and everything that goes with flying bigger airplanes higher and faster. I would recommend this book.
