Q: I recently purchased a Vertex VXA-710. I see that you offer a Vertex SMA to BNC antenna adaptor. Is it possible to use this adaptor to connect to a rooftop antenna to receive aviation communications at a further distance. (I want to listen to improve my comm skills as a student pilot.) If this is possible, what antenna would I need? What antenna cabling would be necessary? Thanks.
A: Yes, the BNC adapter can be used to connect the transceiver to a standard ground antenna. You should be able to find different antennas and cable at your local electronics store (i.e. Radio Shack).

Q: Is "this" SMA2BNC designed for the VXA-100 pilot ? The manual simply states using a CN-3 with 50 ohm impedance and i didn't see the description on the homepage.
A: Yes, this is the CN-3 that can be used with the VXA-100.
