Easy to comprehend
by Cheri from Vero Beach FL USA

Pros: Size
Cons: Table of contents
Review: This is the best version of the FAR/AIM out there every year. It's the perfect size for any flight bag. The color pictures that are in it clear up a lot of the verbage. I'll continue buying this FAR/AIM

The price was right and the book was informative.
by Mark from Fanwood NJ USA

Review: The appendix with the abbreviations and acronyms were a little confusing.  I would rather see important acronyms to make the reading easier.  More out of context than just abbreviations.

It only gets thicker
by A Customer from Reno NV USA

Review: It is the FAR/AIM. They are required to be known, or at least be able to be found when needed, and are laid out well in the ASA format.

Absolutely fantastically a FAR/AIM book.
by ciao120 from Missoula MT USA

Pros: informative, meets requirements, full of regulations to not lose your license
Review: If you were looking for the next best-seller novel on aviation, you may want to move on. However, if you're a pilot and are looking for the federal aviation requirements and aeronautical information manual. Then this is it. It's the big book of rules you always dreamed it would be- Dry, full of fancy words, and a touch of red tape. 1/2 of everything you need to be a pilot minus the plane

Cons: make sure you have one
Review: It is what it is. You need it if you want to know the rules.

by Earl Rogers from Mendota IL USA

Pros: Quality printing, Comprehensive . Portable size.
Cons: None
Review: Excellent compilation of FARs and AIM. Format and presentation of high quality. An excellent basic reference and study tool for the non-commercial and commercial pilot. (Part 121 not included) A definite plus is the free online update service that ASA provides. Overall, very good value for the money. Would recommend this book to any pilot operating under Part 91 or Part 135.

A Yearly Must Have
by Greg from Raymond ME USA

Pros: Everything you need in one book
Cons: Would like Part 121 included
Review: As always, the FAR/AIM Book keeps me safe and up to date. I particularly like the email updates to download the latest changes to the book. Last year alone, there were 59 pages of changes and these updates kept up to speed and out of the scan of FAA inspectors. I also like the additional color illustrations within AIM.

Product Good - Source Has Some Issues
by A Customer from Azle TX USA

Review: The product, itself, is fine. But the FAA needs to get their act together before going to press themselves. Last year, they introduced (ATC) altitudes on Departure Procedures but failed to follow through on the charts, confusing those pilots departing Los Angeles International On the Sebby and Loop 5 departures (the only DPs to show (ATC) altitudes. Now they wonder about all non-(ATC) altitudes on other charts (that were never changed). This year, they are still touting "Position and Hold" when all year we and they have known that "Line Up and Wait" was replacing it before the end of 2010. And, as I remember, the AIM used to be, in decades past, a lot better organized and easier to read. Guess it changed with the politically correct name change. Your product is fine. It is the source that is somewhat wanting.

Review: The "bible" of aviation in condensed form. Lots of changes for 2011, so pick one up if yours is out of date. No pilot, let alone any CFI should be without one!

FAR/AIM 11 - an award winning book?
by Jack from East Lansing MI USA

Pros: Informational
Cons: Boring
Review: Well, it isn't very exciting reading, like, say Hemingway or Michener. The US Government has never been accused of being witty or insightful. But, it IS necessary reading.

A must for pilots
by Sheila from BARTLETT TN USA

Monday, October 25, 2010
Reliable, year after year.
by Dick from Whitmore Lake MI USA

Pros: Price is good, Format is "normal"
Cons: Print is a little small. I'd be willing to have a larger size book with the same number of pages and larger print.
Review: I like that sections containing new or changed information hilite that by a heavy black vertical bar in the margin. That way I can go through and find changed information quickly. I get this book annually, use post-it tabs to mark relevant sections, and move the tabs to the new book each year.
