Great utility flashlight

  • By Terry from Boston, MA on Thursday, October 05, 2017
  • Pros: Solid, nice size.
  • Review: This is a nice compact flashlight. I thought I lost mine so bought another, then found the first one and my dad decided he wanted one for his car emergency kit so...

My only nit is that the colored lights need to be cycled through; not a dealbreaker, but I'd think some sort of selector switch would be a good idea (I don't really use the blue as often as red/green).

Smith & Wesson Galaxy 12 Led flashlight

  • By Lw from Bastrop LA USA on Tuesday, July 18, 2017
  • Pros: Very good light to have
  • Review: I had one before it lasted for 5years I work nights and it is a really good light I drive a truck hauling gas have dropped it from the top of the trailer and it still worked with no problem also dropped it in the catch basin with gas in it and it still worked

  • By on Friday, June 23, 2017
  • Pros:
  • Review: My only complaint, and it is a nitpick indeed, is that you can't individually control each color.

I would buy this flashlight again

  • By A Customer from Omaha NE USA on Thursday, January 26, 2017
  • Pros: Light weight, easy to use, very functional.
  • Review: The performance of this product met my expectations. The white LED lights put out a bright enough to get done what you need to in the dark. The blue and red LED lights are good on the flight deck also.

There is a newer version that has green LED lights too.

Not a great after dark light for the cockpit

  • By Richard from Lamar CO USA on Tuesday, July 19, 2016
  • Pros: LED with nice bright white
  • Review: If you need a good flashlight for preflight checks then this one works great.

If you are looking for something to help read charts during the flight then I would keep looking. It does have a separate button for the colored lights when you do not want bright white, but the problem is that is "lights" instead of light. There are three different colors. The red is great for the cockpit, but the green and blue must be moved through when turing on and off, and they are too bright for keeping you night vision in tact.

  • Pros:
  • Review: Small and handy yet bright if needed or suitable dim for night time with red and green selections.

This is a product not TAYLORED for pilots.

  • By Not a Pilot from Tampa, FL on Saturday, March 07, 2015
  • Pros: Durability, Function, Tenacity
  • Review: I am not a pilot but I own this product. I have had the flashlight for about 5 years now. It stills works to the same specifications as it did when I purchased it, without being to measure the performance. Some of the anodized aluminum has worn away on points that have contact with a flat surface. This has caused raw aluminum to be exposed. This total surface area exposed is smaller than the accumulated size of a quarter face. I could imagine how such a bright flash light could distort the light coming from your map in such a fashion that it would be difficult to read. This thing is built to survive and provide you with a beacon of light, for whatever purpose that may hold. It's kind of heavy duty for being so unseeming in function, to put it bluntly. Great for survival, bad for a night light.
