APR’s Pilot Wind Triangle & T/S/D Navigation Computer features the new and
exclusive WIND SPEED CURSOR ARM which quickly shows ground speed, wind
correction angle, and heading, thereby eliminating two set-ups and the need to mark
a dot on the plastic disc.
In addition to color-coded conversion scales printed on the computer, the E6-B2WHL
shows fuel consumption solutions, density altitude factors, conversions for true
airspeed & altitude, mach number, kilometers, minutes to seconds, statute to nautical
to statute miles, off-course and drift corrections, and slide-rule mathematics.
The E6-B2WHL calculates all necessary flight planning and en route navigation
requirements. Color-coded sawtooth scales on the wind cursor are user-friendly
and allow for quick, accurate reading.
The Time/Speed/Distance computer provides all major navigation computations.
The Double Wind Speed Cursor Arm makes solving wind problems a breeze. Simply set
your true course, rotate cursor arm to wind direction, and read your wind correction
angle and groundspeed. Instructions for Windspeed Cursor set-up are printed on the
computer slide. The low wind speed slide (40 to 270 knots or miles) features instructions to solve
for WCA, groundspeed, and headings. The high speed (100 to 820 knots or miles) shows
a headwind and crosswind component grid that depicts the relative wind angle in
a graphic for accurate and easy interpretation. Nautical and Statute scales for
Sectional and WAC Charts are printed on the sides of the slide.
MEETS FAA AC 60-8 REQUIREMENTS.

Pretty good stuff by Michael from Austin TX USA
Pros: Very Functional and Easy to Use Cons: none Review: Not needing to make dots on the wind side is an awesome addition. The wind cursor is great, and worth the small extra expense. I like the locking feature too. It is a very good device and was easy to use.

I would buy another by James Loar from Waynesboro, PA
Pros: Easy to use without the need of something to mark with... Cons: Needs a beter glue on the wind scale. Review: I like this unit. Basically another E6B but the wind scale is easy to you in flight. No need for a marking device to make an already clumsy maneuver clumsier... My only issue was the inner ring on the wind scale came unglued. However it was a simple fix with some silicone.. Good as new if not better.

Best I could find. by Al from Stevensville MI USA
Pros: Less manipulations. Quite visible as to wind issues. Cons: A little pricey, but worth it. Review: Simple to use. Instructors really think it is kewl.

Sturdy, easy to use by Virginia from BOLINGBROOK IL USA
Pros: Sturdy device Cons: instructions and device layout do not match. Review: It met my expectations and I like the fact that you can lock the rose. However, the instructions leave a lot to be desired.
1. The insert for the Window Cursor arm shows a different depicted cursor arm on the front cover and also in the next page are not the same as the The windspeed cursor arm is on the 3rd page and on the one the actual instrument. This made the operation of the device very challenging.
2. The print font in the instruction manual are too small.
Once I figured out how to use the additional features, it made calculations a lot easier.

Review: The wind cursor arm is way easier than marking dots when trying to calculate winds, especially in flight. Other than that this is pretty much your standard E6B with a slide lock (convenient when you're clumsy like me and tend to knock it around). If you don't need the high-speed scales you may want to go for one of the low-speed only models.

Q: I'm a student pilot and interested in this model even though I recently bought one from ASA. I'm trying to "buy American" as often as I can. Would you happen to know where this is made? Thanks.
A:
All of the APR products are made in the USA. APR Industries is located on the southeast boundary of the Los Angeles International Airport. All phases of production, from design to manufacturing to fulfillment, are done on site in their 30,000 sq. ft. plant.
