Flight Guide has served general aviation for over 35 years, and Airguide
Publications has the experience and know-how to provide the coverage, detail,
and supplementary information you need in today's complex aviation
environment. Flight Guide is comprehensive, with each
volume containing 700-800 pages of detailed airport and frequency data,
including:
- Airport
diagrams, radio frequencies and lighting.
- Arrival and departure information.
- General operational information and noise abatement.
- Radio navigational aids, with latitude and longitude.
- Airspace
pages for classes B and C airspace, TRSA and selected class D areas.
- Airspace rules and definitions.
- Fixed-base operators: noting location, phone number, fuel, services and

- "How-to" section for ATC communications.

rentals.
Flight Guide is compact, measuring 5" x 5-1/2". It was
designed for one-handed use in the cockpit and handy page markers allow you to mark your
pages and flip to them easily during flight.
Three volumes cover 48
states and contain more than 5000 public-use airports coast to coast. Flight
Guide is updated twice per year; a free update to the service is included with
each purchase.

Lots of good Information

Pros: Lots of good information.
Cons: Too small to read easily. Gets lost in the cockpit.
Review: Great information in a small package. Maybe too small of a package. A little larger would be easier to read and keep up with. Updates are a lot of trouble to install because they are spread out through the entire book. Would be easier if you just replaced the entire book, and you can have that for more money. The book has so many pages that it is hard to open to put in the updates without loosing pages. How about including more than 1 bookmark in the price. You can buy more but only 1 included. Over the years it seems that almost everything offers less and costs more. I know that the publisher needs to make money and we are all rich pilots, so maybe I shouldn't complain.

Buy the orange book

Pros: Small size
Cons: Information that is used frequently is not easily found or put in bold print
Review: This product did not meet my expectations, my father in-law has the Pilots Guide book for the Southwest (Orange covered book) so I chose this book to have something different, assuming it held the same info but in smaller format. The format is smaller but it does not hold nearly the same info as the Orange book. The orange book not only has a diagram of the runways but it has an aerial picture of most of the airports in the book, it also make it very easy to find the frequences and patern altitudes with their bold print in the Orange book. The orange book also gives you a list of service and contact numbers that the Flight Guide Vol.1 does not. If I had to do it all over again I would purchase the Orange book, it may be a little bigger than the Flight Guide, but as a beginning pilot all the extras in the Orange book is worth the extra size. PS, the directory to find the airports in the Orange book was easier to find for me than the Flight Guide Vol.1
