You get what you pay for... by Coppertop from Atlanta, GA
Pros: light, lasts a long time on only two AA's Cons: quality, Review: We have a couple of these for sale at work. They have very limited reception. My office is 200yds from the tower and I have to take the scanner outside to pick them up!

My Line Fix by Noel Robbins from Austin TX USA
Pros: Small, Lightweight, Easy to Program Cons: None Review: I love to go to the local airport and watch the traffic. With the Maycom Scanner the experience is greatly heightened. As an aspiring pilot, hearing the actual exchange between pilots and tower is essential. It gets easier and easier to understand what at first seemed impossible thanks to this scanner.

On Thursday, May 28, 2009 a customer asked:
Q: What is this scanner's range? (I live about 60 miles north of Orlando Int'l Airport and would like to be able to receive ATC, tower and airliner transmissions from this area.
A:
There is no defined range for transceivers or scanners. It depends on the type of antenna, the placement of the antenna, the weather conditions, the natural and man made obstructions, the power of the transmitter, and many other issues specific to your installation. Unfortunately, that is just not a question that can be answered with any specificity. However, I can tell you that from 60 miles the only thing you will have a chance of receiving is the transmission from aircraft already in the sky. It's much too far to pickup anything being transmitted from the ground.
On Wednesday, August 27, 2008 a customer asked:
Q: Does the Maycom AR-108A have an earphone jack?
A:
Yes it does.
On Thursday, June 19, 2008 a customer asked:
Q: Can you also transmit with this radio or can you only recieve?
A:
With this scanner you are only able to listen/receive. If you need to transmit, you will need one of the transceivers found here.
