Great Headset

Pros: Cheap, good quality
Cons: Mic is older technology
Review: I'm a student pilot, and this is my first headset. I can't compare it to any other headset because it is the first one I have used. It works great and I have no complaints whatsoever. It's pretty comfortable and sound quality is great. The mic works great although I have heard that the mic is older technology, but I haven't used the M7's (like on the 10-13.4's) so like I said, I can't compare. I'll probably upgrade later. Overall, great headset for the price and the David Clark quality! Duane

Q: What is the differences of the mic's on the h10-30 and the one on the h10-60 from a user perspective.
A:
The electret microphone (M-7A) on the H10-60 does a better job blocking out background noise, and it only activates when you speak. The dynamic microphone on the H10-30 ( M-1/DC) is a fine unit, but it is older technology, and doesn't block out as much background noise.
If you have the H10-30 Headset, you can upgrade to the electret microphone with the
David Clark M-7/DC
Retrofit Kit . It is an electret microphone that attaches to a wire boom. The M-7A only attaches to the flex boom.

This headset would be fine, however you you might also want to consider the David Clark H10-13.4 which is a little bit lighter and has a better mic boom.
