not very good overall

Cons: Rubbish graphics away from the aircraft. Terain is not near to accurate for most places. frame rates are rubbish even on a very highspec machine on windows 7
Review: I use this on a high spec quad core machine and high brow graphics card and tons of ram. The sim works well enough in most scenarios but the graphics away from the aircraft are very poor!. Worst thing is the red bull missions since the frame rates drop to very slow 10 to 14 fps and even with lowest setting applied, the flying is so jerky the missions are impossible to fly. Overall very dissapointing. Il2 1964 is better which was a surprise to me!
Hopefully the Microsoft Flight sim coming out in the nearish future apparently will be programmed to run correcltly and use the ram etc efficiently enough to make the game high brow graphics with good frame rates all around. Please get it right this time.

Review: The product is disappointing at best. Don't believe the 1.0GHz requirements. Really, should be a min of 2.5 GHz if you wnt any sort of decent resolution. Looks more like a kids toy that is difficult to use. The Saitek yoke and rudder pedals simply SUCK!

They are very quiet because they are busy at work and like the hand/eye coordination needed to fly. The kids like to fly the small planes, the kite and the helacopter the most. Perfect training aid

Deluxe Edition - a part of the Gold Edition] Be aware! This simulator requires a fast processor with a good video card. But you don't need a full blown "gamers" PC. A good unit can be bought for under $800 (and you need a good PC at home anyway, right?). Once you are set up, it is a great training aid. I have read all of the negative comments already posted here. All of the complaints can be resolved with a little research and practice. There are a lot of view options available to make the experience close to real. I bought an inexpensive (under $25) joystick with rudder control (wrist action rudder). I moved the pot for the rudder control to a homemade foot pedal for a very inexpensive control system. If you don't like the way the keys are set up for the other controls (radios, for instance), just move them where it would be more intuitive for you. It's amazing to me that I can fly in the (virtual) Grand Canyon and converse with another pilot (who happens to be from Germany)in a plane close by while we are both looking at the same scenery. IN REAL TIME!!! That's fantastic when you think about it (while in multi-player mode)!! This 57 year old, computer illiterate is totally blown away by what technology has brought into our homes to make our lives more enjoyable and provide an education at low cost. Anyone under 30 doesn't know how amazing this technology is. Thanks to all the FREEWARE folks for that! If it wasn't for them we would be paying 10 times as much for less product.

Deluxe Edition - a part of the Gold Edition] Pretty stable, with very little problem to operate. Wish it had a operating manual instead of a HELP you have to access via the program. Makes it awkward when flying to "pause", then access a stupid help menu. Don't like the virtual cockpit function...hard to fly, particulary when doing an approach and you keep hitting different view keys by accident.

Deluxe Edition - a part of the Gold Edition] This is a great sim. It has really helped me with my flight lessons. My instructor was suprised by how quickly I was going thru the lessons. Has a bunch of aircraft and missions. Would like to see more missions though such as different RED BULL Race courses. Learning all the buttons is not intuitive and the instructions seem lacking here. I am using pedals and a yoke for added realism. Have a fast computer or you will have to turn the detail down.

Deluxe Edition - a part of the Gold Edition] One more Microsoft produkt on the market which makes thers packet fet.It's not worth that much as is priced.They assemble some programs from previous versions and improved view options,scenery and maybe clouds.You can not land in some airports on auto pilot using auto approch options.If you set up high density or texture,traffic etc. you have poor frame rate.There is much more glitches in the program and I am greatly dissapinted,for instance sound.Not much different in the sound when airplane is in the air or taxing to the gate or r-nwy.
