ASA Pilot's Manual - Flight School
- 2 customer reviews.

The Pilot's Manual: Flight School covers all the tasks from the FAA Practical
Test Standards for the Private and Commercial certificates, with text supported
by more than 500 full-color illustrations and photographs. Students read about
the maneuvers covered in their forthcoming lesson and gain both a theoretical
and operational understanding of the tasks before heading to the airport. In
addition to covering all the maneuvers, the book also prepares readers for the
student pilot milestones: first solo, cross-country flying, instrument flight,
and night flying.
The appendix provides a comprehensive airplane checkout review, which readers
can use to prepare for transitioning to a new airplane type, insurance
applications, or the Flight Review (BFR) ground lesson. This book makes it easy
for students to learn the maneuvers before taking to the air, so their time
spent in the airplane with an instructor can be dedicated to practice.

Read about and understand your flight maneuvers before you takeoff. by Bob C - KSMO from Santa Monica, CA USA
Review: "ASA Pilot's Manual - Flight School" is first (PM1) in ASA's Pilot's Manual series. This volume gives is a complete and thorough description of each maneuver needed to obtain a Private Pilot's certificate. This book is a must for every library. Full color graphics help the student pilot visual exactly how each maneuver should be performed and what is required. The theory behind each maneuver, with the whys and wherefores is also thoroughly explained. When paired with "ASA Pilot's Manual - Ground School" (PM2) any student pilot can complete his certificate with confidence. It's a great self paced study program, as well as a textbook for the classroom. This is an excellent reference book to refresh and review for a biannual flight review.
