SoftComm ATC-2PS Panel Mount 2 Place Stereo Intercom

These intercoms are so compact that they fit almost anywhere in the aircraft's panel. They are designed to mount either horizontally or vertically, your choice. These Panel Mounted Stereo Intercoms will fit in any home built / experimental, business aircraft or general aviation aircraft in production today. They come with all necessary hardware for installation, a tested wiring harness, all audio and microphone jacks and mounting escutcheon plates.

Only high-quality discrete and hybrid components have been selected to withstand the rigorous requirements of the RTCA/DO-160C of the FAA TSO 50c. SoftComm’s “voice activated” (VOX) intercoms use the latest in audio design technology. This allows you to pre-set the squelch level to prevent “word-clipping” and it won’t shut off before you are finished talking. This is important for people that don’t want to feel “hurried” in speaking. Likewise, the intercom volume can be set to a preferred and most comfortable level.
The intercoms are designed to use power supplied from the aircraft’s power system. In the event of an emergency in-flight power loss an SC regulator will automatically switch from the aircraft’s power to the reserve 9V DC battery. The intercom’s “off/on” switch is used to control this reserve power. Pilots like this feature during pre-flight and post-flight conditions. Battery life should last over a year when used this way.

All accessories including microphone jacks, headphone jacks, escutcheon plates, audio “IN” and audio “OUT” jacks and a pre-assembled and tested color coded wiring harness is provided. The escutcheon plates can be mounted vertically or horizontally in the panel and in the upholstery of the aircraft. It is recommended that any ashtrays be replaced with these plates when being installed. A simplified wiring diagram and a mechanical drawing to install the hardware is included with the kit. A typical installation requires three (3) to five (5) hours to complete. 

The PILOT ISOLATE SWITCH feature is another preferred feature of the SoftComm intercoms. Headsets and Intercoms encourage passengers to verbally participate in their safety and comfort. To a fault, some cockpits become very busy with the ease of expression and the PILOT obligations will suffer if not for the PILOT ISOLATE switch. Moving the switch to pilot isolate separates only the PILOT’s headphones from the intercom system for those times the pilot needs silence and concentration of the business at hand. All the passengers hear the PILOT communications but the PILOT does not hear theirs. The PILOT hears all the ATC instructions without interference from the passenger chatter.

The SoftComm panel mounted intercoms are truly “value added” equipment for any aircraft, whether used in a Flight School business, commercial cargo carrier or in a private owner plane.

All Panel Mounted Intercoms include a Pre-Wired and Tested cable harness terminated with a DB-25 connector and back shell. Escutcheon plates are included for all stations as well as Audio Jacks for music "In / Out", and a battery clip for 9 VDC AUX power.
