A lot of hype. Some crew members say its fine, other co-pilots say they still hear scratchey like noise in the background. by Mitchell from Pine Mountain GA USA
Pros: small and nice. Cons: No instructions given to install the mike, had too look at the old and take it from there. Review: At first I thought it met my expectations. Some crew members I have flown with say they can hear me fine with no background noise. Others say they hear some scratchy background noise. Possibly I have the mike to far from my mouth, not sure how close it should really be.

Great investment! by Peter from RSA
Review: I had a lot of problems flying with the H10-30 headset and the M1DC mic - specifically in noisy environments like an RV7 cockpit. Could never figure out what's wrong. Even ATC complained about my comms quality. I read about this retrofit kit on mypilotstore and realized my problem wasn't unique. Bought the kit and fitted it, and flew with it yesterday. Massive improvement and problem solved!!

Great upgrade from a M-1/DC mic by John R. from Texas
Pros: Better sound quality. Cons: None Review: There is such of a difference from the M-1/DC mic. It cuts out so much ambient noise and distortion. It was very easy to install. It is a plug and play installation.

On Monday, April 08, 2013 a customer asked:
Q: What is the difference of the retrofit kit vs just buying the M-7 microphone?
A:
You can use either, but this M-7/DC is just a newer, improved, version of the M-7A microphone with better noise cancelling characteristics.
On Tuesday, November 11, 2008 a customer asked:
Q: Will this retrofit kit replace the Dynamic Microphone on an H10-76? I converted the headset from helicopter type with an adaptor but microphone doesn't seem to work
A:
In order to complete the conversion on the H10-76 for use in general aviation fixed wing aircraft, you will need to swap out the dynamic mic on the headset for an electret mic which can be found here.
On Friday, August 08, 2008 a customer asked:
Q: Does this Kit include the mic and the connecting wire shown in black in your picture?
A:
Yes, the microphone and the connecting wire are both included in this kit.
On Monday, March 10, 2008 a customer asked:
Q: I have a high noise cockpit. Aircraft,Swiss fighter,Which, when I talk the noise in the cockpit comes over the mike. Will the DC M-7/DC help ?
A:
I assume you have an H10-40 or H10-30 headset? If so, this electret microphone (M-7A) does a better job blocking out background noise, and it only activates when you speak. The dynamic microphone on the H10-30 or H10-40 ( M-1/DC) is a fine unit, but it is older technology, and doesn't block out as much background noise.
